What the heck !!! (and I do not really mean "heck"). If he went to the SEC I would be happy for him, but not this! Either we screwed up in letting happen or he is my new most hated assistant coach in the Sunbelt! And I have a whole new reason to hate Calvi!

If that’s what he wants let him go.
I’ll say this, Troy stepped up it’s game for football coaching pay and we’ve seen the benefits. The move needs to be made in baseball.
Taking care of the coaches doesn’t cost, it pays.

It seems to be the pay thing as BP went for about $30k more. Makes sense that they have extra cash laying around. They currently don't have to spend money on: - power bill for football stadium
- Maintenance on football stadium
- locks on sorority house doors to protect the pretty ladies
- trophy case
- water bill for baseball stadium (watered it enough a few years back vs Troy to last decades)
- tooth brushes for students
- any new facility upgrades

Not sure what they pay assistants. I know it wasn't money for KE to leave but a chance to coach with good friends and former teammates. I heard that South hired Campbell for $500,000. If true that was a steal on their end.

I know the close friendship those three have plus the opportunity to be the sole signal caller was a factor along with being closer to family.

I think the difference is that no one is particularly upset about the loss of Edenfield.

The guy that bashed the LB buddy system now tells us how great the buddy system is because it’s his buddy. 😂😂😂😂😂😂

The guy that bashed the LB buddy system now tells us how great the buddy system is because it’s his buddy. 😂😂😂😂😂😂 When Steve was hired several of us figured this was coming. Never said the buddy system was great. What I did say was those three were very close friends when they were at Troy and they all three have coached together in the past. If you don't think coaches hire other coaches that they are friends with and have a good coaching rapport with you are in a state of denial. As far as a buddy system goes, if it works and they get the job done there's nothing really wrong with it. The problem is is when you keep your buddies around and they aren't getting the job done and you put friendship over program. When Neal was hired he kept two existing coaches that we knew, brought in a strength coach from the school he left, hired a former player of his, and another coach he had worked with. Is that a buddy system in your book?
