A resolution will be presented to the USA Board of Trustees on today proposing a $72 million stadium. According to the resolution, the football stadium would be built on the University of South Alabama's campus. The University is turning to the City of Mobile and Mobile County for possible help funding the project. The resolution says no funding would come from student tuition or other student fees. If approved, work on the new stadium would begin in July in order for it to be completed by the 2020 football season, under the proposal. Full Article

I'm glad we get to play in a nice stadium finally. I wonder if Coach Campbell's contract stated ground must be broken by _____ or approved and announced by _____.
Welcome to 2018 South, good to see you!

Hopefully it doesn't destroy the natural habitat of the Mobile leprechaun. Poor little guy would be homeless.
Hopefully they have working bathrooms and we don't have to park our cars in the hood as well.

Board of Trustees meeting just wrapped up giving the green light for an on-campus football stadium. Will definitely elevate South's athletic programs. And, whatever conference they participate. And Ladd-Peebles? Thanks for the memories!

And Ladd-Peebles? Thanks for the memories! They will be the next C-USA member if C-USA doesn't splinter like the old WAC did. ULL cooked their goose with the football troubles, softball trouble and even cheerleaders running a escort service.

Stadium wars have begun. Our home side is a dump and will need to be upgraded not just painted over.

One genius move from South, one of the endzone sections can convert to a stage for concerts [ We could easily stage concerts at the Arena but we just don't have the market. There were some great concerts in sartain in the good old days!

I thought the NCAA outlawed separate dorms for athletes in the 80's. Have I missed something along the way?

I thought the NCAA outlawed separate dorms for athletes in the 80's. Have I missed something along the way? There must be a loop hole around it. UCF has a dorm that athletes of all sports stay in. It's right next to the football facility also. Friend of mines daughter ran track there and stayed in that dorm also. I'm not sure if any regular students use it or not. Personally I think you would have less off field instances if you had football dorms. We were mandated to stay on 4th floor B wing of Alumni Hall..no exceptions and no living off campus. Not sure why the NCAA banned them but my guess would be Switzer and Oklahoma and The U.
