We all have our favorite spots to eat and drink so let’s share them! My two favorite spots are Coops Place and Doris Metropolitan. Coops- dive restaurant located on Decatur street this place has some of the best fried chicken around!!! It also has a fire rabbit jambalaya! Moderate pricing
Doris Metropolitan - meat heaven! Hands down best and coolest steakhouse around! 31 day aged ribeye or the meat board to share is a solid choice! If you are feeling extra frisky you can get the Japanese Wagyu...just be prepared to open up the wallet really wide! Can’t go wrong here but it is very pricy!

There is a guy named Mr. Jimmy that hangs out around Jackson Square and cooks a mean grilled cheese over a sterno can, cost only $2 or a can of beer.

Mr. Ed's Fish House.
A local recommended it to me the last time I was down there. Said when they went to Quarter, they went to Ed's.
We tried it and it was PHENOMENAL. Little hole in the wall place on Bienville, but the best food I've ever had in NoLa.

I had a po' boy somewhere in New Orleans when we played S Miss. Can't recall where . Maybe that large concoction I had in French Quarter has something to do with that!

Pierre Masperos for Bloody Marys. They also have a great Gumbo. It's on the corner of Chatres and something else.

Cafe Fleur de Lis for an outstanding breakfast and bacon Bloody Mary. Central Grocery for the Muffuleta. Cochon Butcher is excellent. Toast is a fabulous breakfast, but it’s a little out of the way. Creole Creamery for ice cream. Great choices, but I will raise you dinner at K Paul's Southern Kitchen, breakfast at Mena's Palace, Lunch at Oceana Grill, and Sunday, when you leave town, Mother's and MAKE SURE SOMEONE gets the roast beef sandwich!!! BTW lunch could be switched, can't remember if they are open on Sunday!! Midnight snack - a Lucky Dog, with chili, round about 0330! Damn I'm gonna hate missing this one!

Lucy’s Retired Surfer Bar is quite the surprise and very un NOLA like. Also I recommend the Carousel Bar just to say you rode the carousel. Get there early. Daisy Dukes isn’t bad at all at 1 A.M. when most everything else is closed and you need to soak up some of your liquid diet from earlier in the day.

We love anything from Mothers
My favorite place on this planet is Desi Vega's. If any of you have eaten Mr John's Steakhouse, it's the same deal. Desi also played JUCO baseball with a local Troy guy so from what I heard, Desi Vega's is booked solid Fri and Sat with all Troy peeps, including my crew. So this trip it won't do ya much luck.

If you have the time, take the trolley west on St Charles all the way west to the turn to the north, then go about a mile north and disembark at Oak Street. Walk west on Oak old NoLa commercial district. Way down to the left, You'll see the folks lined up at Jacque Imos. Locals steered me there during my son's college days.
You'll wait a while , enjoy a cool refreshing beverage and have a fine dining experience. 🍷
