Okay, I know it will happen, but I'm just not sure when. The ability is there. The passion is there. It just seems he's a little too reserved. He knows the game. He works the refs to see if they know the game as well as he does. He gets pretty close to doing it, but it's like he'd have a problem if he did it.
I think it should be a prerequisite to walk the Troy sidelines. Just do it already and get it over with! Just throw your dadgum visor, man!
Go Trojans!

One of my good friends I grew up with played for Spurrier and then 9 years in the NFL and played for Bill Cowert with the Steelers. He said Spurrier hated to lose worse than any coach he ever seen and that fire and passion (including the visor throwing) fueled the team. I love a coach that shows fire and passion and there is a time and place for it unless you start acting like Roidsbuth at ULL. But I agree, would love to see NB throw the visor.

Passion has many ways to Express itself....sure there are the visor throwers the profanity laden coaches and there are other ways...just because passion is shown differently does not mean that it's not just as intense....I have seen NB very animated but in general it is not his style...to become a yeller and screamer would come off disingenuous....It's different but just like worship there are many ways to do it and no one right way....I had a mean yelling high school coach and grew up with a similar father...after talking to the coach I think I was the only one he was not semi horrific to after that and my college coach was pretty quite (and there were plenty of fiirey assistants....) I know it's a passionate game but a good steady fire gets things done just as well and often with more control than a raging brush fire. We will know when NB is upset outwardly but control to me is a very admirable quality...the book of Proverbs is full of lines about this......

Are you sure he did not throw it on the last play of the first half saturday? His visor flew off somehow during that (well deserved) tirade.

We would have to go to the video for review, but I think the visor came off when it was hit by one of his flailing arms. That might be even better than intentionally throwing it, since intentionally throwing it would indicate coherent thought. Irrational incoherence is sure the state I was in at that moment.

NB was HOT after that ordeal. From what I saw, he took it off, at one point, but quickly put it back on...bad clock management by the refs to end the half...

I talked to someone who was very close to the situation. Official stopped the clocked, then realized the player was tackled in bounds (which I unfortunately agree with after seeing the replay) then it "clicked" with the official that he stopped the clock thus he immediately started the clock back. Clearly the issue was Troy saw the stopped clock and knew that meant they had 40 seconds to get a play off. Instead, while the play was being called, he started the clock back. It was a bad human error and he knew it was an error.

But, I thought that was a first down play...? The ball wasn't set before he wound the clock...
