OK, I have dealt with this since the first bowl games on December 17th and am STILL putting up with it watching the FCS Championship Game today!
EVERY bowl game I have watched for the past few weeks every other commercial break (I am NOT exaggerating) has been advertising UAB Football. PLEASE tell me this is JUST in the Birmingham market area and is an attempt to sell at least a dozen season tickets!! Everytime it comes on I think how can they afford this, how much is this costing, OR did they sell their soul to ESPN.
I would be curious IF it is ONLY the Birmingham Market Area or are other markets dealing with this disruption of their television and college football viewing?
IF you can stomach it, here it is

Must be a Birmingham thing. I've not seen it before.

Must be a Birmingham thing. I've not seen it before. THANKS! IF it is just our market, then I will survive since I live in their territory (ever so small that it be). You know how people love to tweet how things are greater than other things? Well for comparison to how many times I have seen it ... I think it has been shown the number of times EQUAL to the number of consecutive Troy football games you have attended

This might be slightly vitriolic, but while I am glad they have a program again, I hate UAB to my very core. When do we get to play them again? Because I want to beat the fire out of that lizard's mouth.

IAW a conversation I had this past season, it will be a LONG TIME before we schedule them. The fact that they got a "do over" and just "pause" for a year without any penalty. That hasn't sat very well with other programs and athletic directors.

I think the biggest issue for us opponents is the waivers for kids who wouldn't quailify under typical circumstances. They are gonna be more loaded than ever for a couple years then it will be up to Coach a Clark and company (who will do well) to recruit long lasting players.
Again the whole self imposed death penalty still blows my mind and ticks me off for my friends on the staff.

That have a huge recruiting advantage over every other school they are recruiting against right now. The self imposed death penalty was rewarded by the NCAA.

Yep, the NCAA gave them benefits denied others. We or others can't control that but we CAN control whether we play them or not. I say NO! Their situation was created by their "parent", UA and others ought not be disadvantaged by the NCAA because of it. Object by saying find someone else to play for a while!

I would be so disappointed in Troy if they never scheduled UAB again. I've kind of gotten over the Jax St thing, but that was of their making. Regardless of the recruiting, I'll take this staff to win against Clark & Co. That's worth the price of admission right there.
