Most vivid best memory: Scoring that first touchdown against Nebraska to take the 7-0 lead. Wow. What a feelin. Most vivid worst memory: The Montana 70-7 blowout and CLB's halftime response: "I don't know! You got any ideas?!" I remember that Montana game as well. Pratt Lyons had destroyed anyone who touched the ball all season. Our guys hit that frozen field and could barely walk on it, let alone pursue a ball handler. I'm not sure Pratt made a tackle all day. After that, his promising pro career was cut short due to a neck injury sustained, I believe, in a car accident. I remember hearing someone say in the tailgate area about Pratt, "he would be arrested on the street for doing what he does on the field". A tough one, he was. As a general rule, I normally do not post past page 1 or after football season for that matter, but to correct the record: Pratt scored the only points against Montana when he intercepted a pass and ran it back for six. The Grizz scored 70 unanswered after that. They actually were pretty bush league, kicking an onside kick up by several touchdowns. LB wasn't too thrilled. Always would like the chance to take them out behind the woodshed one day. Beautiful stadium though - horrid grass/mud field. Before the advent of Field Turf. And sadly, a bond was issued for Pratt to be released from Tarrant County jail on Christmas Eve. $2,500. Assault with bodily harm, but you never know with that low of a bond either he is distitute or the authorities don't have mush of a case. Maybe disgruntled girlfriend. Who knows? Always hate to see TMTDM players fall on tough times. ijis.tarrantcounty.com/CJReports/Reports/BondsIssued/FinalPDF/09.PDF

1993, watching Kelvin Simmons lead a comeback to tie Central State Great game but I know several players on that team still having nightmares about trying to block Hugh Douglas. He tackled Kelvin and the ball carrier on one play and they said he went up to LB on the sidelines and said " you better get someone who can block me, your going to get your qb killed". Kelvin took a beating that game and still marched Troy the length of the field and then made the two point conversion

Kelvin was amazing to watch, he went toe to toe with Air McNair that year also.

Kelvin was amazing to watch, he went toe to toe with Air McNair that year also. He was a winner and something special. I would love to have seen him play in our offense today. He would have set records that never would be broken

I've only been a Trojan since 2011, so I don't have many years to choose from... But I know exactly which is my favorite: the Eric Thomas game-winning TD catch against South Alabama with seconds left! I was literally in tears while playing the fight song with the best band in the land.
Coming to Troy is one of the best decisions I've ever made. I love Troy University, Trojan Football, the Sound of the South, and all the friends I've made that have now become my family. We are Trojans, one and all!

This isn't a vivid memory but it is one I would like to see if anyone else remembers and can offer some more info. I was just a kid and I think it may have been early in CLB's tenure on a "Dark and stormy night" when we lost power at the stadium. The stadium lights went out and we waited and waited but they never came back on. Meanwhile I think the AD called around to high schools to try to find a place to finish this game but nobody could host the game. The game was finally played on the practice field which at the time was not 100 yards. It is the strangest memory I have about Troy football.

I remember that game, think it was against South East Missouri. After moving over to the practice field, every time the offense had the ball, they had to go in the direction of the only end zone with goal posts. If I'm not mistaking, it was the longest duration for an NCAA game at the time, something over 6 hours from start to finish due to the horrible weather that day.
Go TROY!

This entire season as this is the first season in 20 years where I have made it to every home game due to living such a long distance away. I love TROY and everything about it and even taught years ago at TROY Key West. I have met only a few folks at the games but those I have met have been fantastic and friendly people. I may have to move back to Montgomery to care for an elderly parent and being able to go to games next year without the 1000 miles of travel will be a welcomed joy and respite. My goal next year is to hook up with some tailgaters !
