I absolutely realize that kids today listen to this music and maybe that's part of the problem with this generation. The sexual assault problems on campus are real and when you are listening to music saying F a ho, let me feel down her pants etc what do you expect IMO My point was this was being played just off the main quad, over speakers with families and small children in the area. Perfectly fine to play that in their dorms, frat houses, sorority houses etc. my point was it has no place on campus on game day where children are. If the administration refuses to handle this then I have lost respect for them. This isn't censorship, this is leadership. You don't play that music in a doctors office, business office etc. Dorms, frat house, sorority houses etc. are all on campus. I see children all over campus. It is up to the parent to remove themselves from that area or accept it by staying there. I moved from the family section when the students got moved next to us because I didn't want my children hearing the words coming out of their mouths. I didn't ask leaders/administrators to ask them to use better language. Might as well tell them they cant play country music either because there is a lot in that music about drinking and wife beating. I guess this just goes next to the complaining of people standing to cheer or the crappy cups they serve at concessions.

I said dorms, frat houses etc. not beside the quad next to the baseball field with inflatables set up for kids. They are on university property and their needs to be some boundaries. The music wasn't the problem, it was the lyrics. Last time I checked families with small children weren't attending frat or sorority parties ie time and place for everything

Wait....is it the main quad or beside the baseball field? I say remove the inflatables because they are hazards for injuries.

From my observations, he's not a big fan of frat boys. So, I'd deduce anything they do would multiply his angst exponentially. Has nothing to do with frats. The point is this wasn't at their frat house or dorm. When families with small kids are present the school should say you can play your music but not with vulgar sexual explicit lyrics when children are around. This coddling of young people is part of the problem of course there were some on here that said we couldn't instill discipline in our football team or make them dress for Trojan Walk or nobody would play for Troy. Glad this staff didn't listen to that nonsense either. We will agree to disagree on this issue. My point was it should not we allowed with children present and I stand by that The coddling of a few that don't like something and want it to change is part of the problem as well.

No one is suppressing. They have a right to play it but not representing their Greek organization in the middle of families and small kids on a game day in the middle of campus. The administration absolutely can control this. This wasn't a frat party during the week, this was a game day. I guess you would be okay for your 5 year old girl being subjected to that bringing her for a fun day of football. There is a time and place for everything and game day in public in view of families with little kids is not the time and place. Had I been a first time visitor to Troy with little kids and heard that crap I heard, I assure you I would not return. It happen on every other college campus, I don't get why you're so offended by it honestly. Too each his own Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk Where does "to each his own" end?? I'll say this and I'm through. Many of us grew up in a time where morals and behavior had meaning and the adults enforced them because they understood the value and consequences of both. I'm becoming more convinced that that is slowly disappearing from our society today and we will have to wait to see who's opinions become fact!

There, now they will get it So, the best that you have to say about all college students is a simple reduction of their collective character? You can see nothing beyond their music selections? I would question you before them.

All I stated was the administration should be able to stop that but to you anything goes, don't want to offend the students. Glad my girls weren't little Sat abd had to explain what F a Ho was. Sad that our administration is afraid of students.

Sad that our administration is afraid of students. Here's how I handle this type of stuff at my house. I know my kids hear and see all kinds of crazy stuff at school. I take the opportunity to explain how bad and wrong that language is and how they don't need to repeat it. They are old enough now to know it's bad and wrong. I can't shelter them from everything, but I can teach them right from wrong.
