I took a stroll around campus before the game. It was Troy preview day so there was a lot of perspective students and their families walking around also. Walking back to the stadium pass the main quad right next to pace Hall I noticed a fraternity and sorority set up with some of the most vulgar music blaring I've ever heard. I noticed families with small children in the general area also. I know it's college and that's what they listen to and if they want to do it at their frat house or sorority house that's fine it should not be allowed on campus when families and small children are present. I would not of wanted to be a parent with little girls listening to some rapper blaring about how he's going to F some girl. The administration should not allow this

There needs to be limits set and enforced. We had prospective students everywhere and tons of adults who will help them decide where to go and pay the bill! I'm no prude but there should be a standard and this shouldn't fit it!!! Needs fixin', NOW!

Let's just ban cussing as well. I'm tired of if I find it offensive it needs to be shut down or stopped.

The music played over the stadium speakers isn't much better.

ESPECIALLY with visitors on board who may still have some resemblance of wholesome social values! No one needs take these thought badly, it's common sense....or was!

Being dead serious. Most of these recruits play the same music in their vehicles or homes. This same thing happens at most college campuses. Censorship is an issue. When someone gets their little panties in a wad about something they disagree with it's supposed to get changed to their liking.

A LOT of people listen to music with cussing in it. This is a hip=hop generation and it is not confined to black people. Some of these kids, now-a-days, have been cussing and smoking and having sex...As I told a customer today: These are the times in which we live...Be a change agent if you can...

When someone gets their little panties in a wad about something they disagree with it's supposed to get changed to their liking. Ok, we are now killing cops as per this music and women are dehumanized by these thug songs but heck, they hear it every day so that makes it all good 'cause we sure "Don't want to get anyone's panties in a wad"! So the position is if any of us cling to wholesome values (old fashion if you like) "we are getting our pantries in a wad"! That seems to be the new term to degrade any difference of opinion on sites like this. Heaven knows don't let us stop all the quality cursing, wholesome hell raising, or natural messin' with the ho's via this thoughtful degrading or threatening music because just it might allow a student to grow up with quality values and Lord knows we sure don't want that. We just want to be allowed to DO OUR THANG. Not worth trying to make the point. You understand it or you don't. Oh, please tell me you are not a parent YET!

Been a parent for 17 years. Two kids as a matter of fact. Just because my opinion is what it is doesn't mean I'm not (along with their mother) raising decent, respectful children. Since you hope that I don't have children YET I hope you don't always develop preconceived opinions of people you don't know.

Since you hope that I don't have children YET I hope you don't always develop preconceived opinions of people you don't know. I owe you an apology. I wasn't questioning YOUR parenthood but rather your lack of understanding and appreciation of MY feelings. I felt once you became a parent (were you not one) you would better understand the point I tried to make. Anything we can do to give young people a less disrespectful view of others be it racial, gender or entities like police we should do. You are a parent so I assume we will simply disagree. My choice of words could have been much better and clearer to make my point. My concerns of where the breakdown in our children's value system lies is based on studies and reality. Yes, it can start with something as simple as music/language if parents don't enforce the wrong in it. Your statement to me about "pantries in a wad" was no more respectful of MY opinion as you felt mine was to you but that's your value, not mine. For what I could have said differently that could have gotten my point across more clearly, I APOLOGIZE!

I absolutely realize that kids today listen to this music and maybe that's part of the problem with this generation. The sexual assault problems on campus are real and when you are listening to music saying F a ho, let me feel down her pants etc what do you expect IMO My point was this was being played just off the main quad, over speakers with families and small children in the area. Perfectly fine to play that in their dorms, frat houses, sorority houses etc. my point was it has no place on campus on game day where children are. If the administration refuses to handle this then I have lost respect for them. This isn't censorship, this is leadership. You don't play that music in a doctors office, business office etc.

Elvis Presley, the Beatles, and rap have all been vilified, but the ills of the world can be attributed to none of them.

Elvis and the Beatles weren't singing " F a Ho" " have her play with my thang" " slide my hand down her pants". All lyrics I heard in the 1 minute I walked by with a family with three small girls ahead of me. No place for that on game day. These were students who should have been told No.

This is how you drive off current student. Don't get me wrong, I don't like the music either, but it is what is poplar and they have just as much right to be our there playing it as you do to play your music. You could ask them politely to turn it down so you don't have to hear it everywhere, but I doubt it works. You may as well try to ban all cussing and make people wear collared shirts to all games, it's just not going to happen

They have a right to play it but not representing their Greek organization in the middle of families and small kids on a game day in the middle of campus. The administration absolutely can control this. This wasn't a frat party during the week, this was a game day. I guess you would be okay for your 5 year old girl being subjected to that bringing her for a fun day of football. There is a time and place for everything and game day in public in view of families with little kids is not the time and place. Had I been a first time visitor to Troy with little kids and heard that crap I heard, I assure you I would not return.

So I guess when they get hired we won't tell them they can't play their F a Ho music in the office or I guess we will run off employees. Time and place for everything. Play hip hop all you want, they just don't need to be playing vulgar sexual lyrics over speakers in front of children.

I guess my thing is you act as if these kids were doing it intentionally. It's just music. They play it in stores and buildings all over the country. Work and play are two different things and you can't compare the two. I like to drink beer and whiskey when I'm off, but I don't do it at work because it's against the rules. It's not against the rules there.

Has nothing to do with frats. The point is this wasn't at their frat house or dorm. When families with small kids are present the school should say you can play your music but not with vulgar sexual explicit lyrics when children are around. This coddling of young people is part of the problem of course there were some on here that said we couldn't instill discipline in our football team or make them dress for Trojan Walk or nobody would play for Troy. Glad this staff didn't listen to that nonsense either. We will agree to disagree on this issue. My point was it should not we allowed with children present and I stand by that
