The youngest daughter of civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr. will speak at Troy University.
University officials announced today that the Rev. Bernice King will speak at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 7 in the Trojan Center Theatre.
Her's will be the keynote address during the university's annual Leadership Conference Celebrating African-American History Month.
An ordained minister, she has coordinated numerous conferences on non-violent resolution for college and university students, as well as seminars for women and families.
The conference, which the university has themed "Leadership, Unity, Empowerment: Celebrating the Civil Rights Legacy," is set for Feb. 7-8.
The conference was launched in 2002 and seeks to promote dialogue that fosters multicultural collaboration and equip diverse leaders, according to the university.
