I hate that the ladies lost, but I'm proud of what they've accomplished this season. Oregon State is going to be a tough team for anybody to play against... except maybe UConn. It's tough to play against a team that averages 6'3" per player in women's basketball.
Once again, this team has loads of potential to do great things next season. We only lose Ashley Beverly-Kelley, which I know will hurt a little, but there is always a chance for someone to step up in that role.

We will have 8 seniors next year which means we should be very tough. My concern is the following year could be a major rebuilding year. How many incoming players do we have coming in the fall?? With 8 seniors plus 2 underclassmen that played this year, it would be doubtful that any new players get much if any playing time. However, next year could be a special year. With 8 seniors anything less will be a let down IMO.

CR has a good core of hs players that she will enhance with juco players.

That is my concern with the 2017-18 season. She has done a tremendous job, I just hope we don't go from pinnacle to rebuilding year. Hope maybe this group coming in is possibly better than some returners, that would be even better.

Anyone that finds any negative around this team needs to realize where this team was four years ago. What Chanda and her staff have done is remarkable. They beat the two best teams in the conference on back to back nights to get to the NCAA tournament. Anyone that was at that tournament saw a team that refused to lose. So many times in all three games they faced adversity and won! We are blessed to have this staff in place. The future is bright and the game against Oregon St does nothing to dim their accomplishments. Much in the way they learned from their first round exit in the conference tournament last year, I expect them to learn and grow from this experience.

Your confusing negativity with a legitimate question. We lose 8 seniors after next season and have 4 underclassmen returning that have played. That's 12, you said we routinely play 11. So unless any of the incoming class is better than these 12, they might not get playing time which means "possibly" we could enter the 2017-18 season with four players with game experience. I hope we have some players in this incoming group that can contribute right away. But you would have to say the 12 returners have the upper hand. Next season should be very special and the bar is set even higher. It's the following season that could possibly be a rebuilding year, it depends on the talent and how it progresses. The 12 returners have proven themselves, no question about that.

These are players, that includes a nationally recognized player to boot, that are excited to play for CR and Troy...no reason to think they won't achieve as much as their previous teammates have.

The team will have A LOT of seniors next season, but Rigby is going to find more JUCO and high school talent to keep the depth going. She's already signed McDonald's All-American Jessie Day out of high school, which is huge. I wouldn't be surprised if she sees a lot of playing time next season.

What they accomplished this year can have a major impact of current and future recruiting. It's very possible that this tournament trip could sway several recruits in our direction. If Chanda were to leave we are in so much better shape than what we were when she was hired. Also that would make this job much more desirable to the masses if she were to leave. I personally hope she doesn't, but I would wish her all the best if she did decide to move on.

I was sure hoping they played better than that but Oregon State might be playing UConn in the final Matter of fact the Oregon State women's team probably could beat our men's team. My goodness you're an annoying little troll. Our men's team would name the score against them. Just stop.

I'm hoping with her son at Troy and her husbands success at Elba she stays. You never know with a coach. Some jump ship while others stay for a long time. Case in point Larry Kehres the football coach at Mount Union. A 56 and 57 game win streak, 8 national titles, a .900 plus career win percentage. You can't tell me someone never tried to hire him away?? Are you not disappointed that Rigby is a female coach?

Are you not disappointed that Rigby is a female coach? Plenty of successful women's basketball coaches..ie Pat Summitt. However, Uconn has a male coach. My point was softball..the top programs all have male coaches.....fact. Softball, got it

So, now we are being negative about perceived problems 2 season down the road? Yea, I am sure Rigby hasn't even considered future recruiting or seasons. :sarcasm: You evidently confuse negativity with a legit question. 8 seniors, 12 returning players with game time. We play 11, stating a fact that we could have a inexperienced team 2017-18 unless the new players get playing time over the 12 returners. Next year could be the year. This group set the bar high Can I be a fan of a team/school and not question or criticize every perceived problem? I hope so. I refuse to believe that the only two choices are, 1. Demand everyone is fired, or 2. Drink the cool aid and accept mediocrity. Someone can be a fan and not go to either extreme. And just because someone doesn't call for a coaches job on a message board, doesn't mean we like or accept losing.

As soon as a coach loses they need to be fired. 100 straight wins and 1 loss = fired!!!!

Three straight seasons with fewer wins than the season before and fewer than the coach he replaced. His record in a the top venue in the conference is worse than the coach he replaced playing in what everyone blamed our woes on...Sartain. He has not done what he was hired for and if they let him stay that shows they have accepted mediocrity in the men's team. Compare that to our women's team. She inherited a two win team, first year showed improvement, year two more wins, year three 20 wins, year four NCAA berth. Cunnigham inherits a 12 win team, year one 11 wins, year two 10 wins, year three 9 wins. If that makes me a bad fan so be it, I was taught in sports and in life you do what your hired to do. No business keeps employees who don't perform or do what they are hired to do. If a CEO is hired and each year his company does worse, after year four are the shareholders and board going oh, let's give him year four?

Troystet, you are correct about business holding their employees to a standard and if they do not perform they are fired. And college sports has moved toward becoming big business (for better or worse). Saying that CPC should get another year. What concerns me about MBB is not our talent, we have that, it is we seem to get out coached and out schemed. If we can correct that, then..... Expectations for 2016-2017 are high, especially after the WBB success.

I think most everyone expects a big turnaround next season or changes will likely occur. Of course you think we need to hire your friend at softball to replace a coach that is currently 21-7.
