Part of college is having fun, and if the Greek system makes people happy, I'm all for it. I met a great number of friends in Greek Organizations

They are out of control at most schools. My son goes to UCF and they just had one suspended over a video of a rape. My son was going to join one his first year at Troy but thankfully got out when he seen what they were about. It would make you cringe if you knew what went on.

Not all fraternities are involved in cringe worthy activities. Many campus leaders have been fraternity members and often they use organizational skills and leadership experience gained in their fraternity to become leaders in their communities after they graduate.

I loved my fraternity days at Troy, some of the funnest times I ever had. Hope these incoming freshman have as good a time and make just as good friends as I did.

Everyone has their own opinions, and I know what they went through, I did it...twice.

Every Frat is doing cringe worthy stuff. It's just all don't get caught or busted. It's a broken system that needs revamped. Troystet - you say "It's a broken system that needs to be revamped." Since you were in a fraternity you would know. I was in a Fraternity and we did some stupid things - at the age of 18, 19, 20, 21 & 22 - but who doesn't. I remember one football player in my time that thought it was a good idea to have a little alcohol and shoot guns in the middle of the night - those silly football players, they were pistol carrying hoodlums shooting up things. If you were not a member don't judge. The fraternity I was a member of has has a christian based ritual and learned a lot from it. I also have some the best friends (brothers) a guy could ask for. Oh, and you can complain that many leave at halftime of football games but you should be glad they show up at all. Ok, off my soapbox now. Joining a fraternity is one of the best decisions I have ever made!

Joining a fraternity is one of the best decisions I have ever made! Other fans "should be happy they (Frats and Soroities) show up at all"! REALLY? I haven't been to a class at Troy since 1963 but I still have s burning in my stomach and ache in my heart that I OWE something to my university. Troy could do quiet well if I never showed up again but if you claim to be a part of something there is a feeling of give and take. Troy doesn't owe me a thing but I owe it BIG TIME! I hope someday Troy reaches the point where you wait on a list to get season tickets then those that have come as a "favor" won't be an issue! Just hoping I live that long! Go Trojans!
