The good doctor has been inconsistent this season and I can't recall if they have won a game against an in-state foe. Definitely have to catch their stride going down the stretch. Tons of talent...can't get a read on this team.

Can we just forfeit all our non-conference games, please?

We are winning the games that matter. And that makes me happy

We beat Samford at home and I believe that was our last midweek win. We are very similar to the 2013 team that was so good, in the fact that our weekend pitching is much better and far more consistent than our midweek pitching. The glaring difference in those two teams is the offensive output with this team is no where near that of the 13 team. David Hall's injury has certainly hampered us as well.

Our mid-week pitching, while not stellar, has been sufficient at times to win if we could have generated a little more offense. The Florida A&M game in Tally and the Alabama State game in Troy come to mind. The pitchers we faced in those games were not nearly as good as we made them look. While I hate to lose to in-state teams (especially Jax St.), and anyone with a recruiting footprint that overlaps ours, baseball is a big picture sport and we look pretty good so far in that regard.

I'll defer to your judgement on mid-week pitching, but I question the team to put together a win without a weekend starter. How far can that get you in the conference tourney and beyond?

Not very far at all!!! That's the sad side of this delima. Our strengths AND weaknesses are nicely identified here but in doing so we unveil the obvious, in a tourney situation our weaknesses become our archilese heel!

They pitched someone for the first time in relief last night. We also have a couple of guys in the bullpen who have had some injury issues that may be able to help come tourney time. It looks like we will need it. The coaches are also trying multiple line-ups in an attempt to find more offense.

I was listening...Long pitched well after he settled down, but I'd prefer hotter bats during the week...

I think if we can take the series this weekend we have a excellent shot at the winners bracket Your post confuses me AT! By winning this weekend won't put us in a "winners bracket" but it might get us in the tournament. Once you are seated in a tournament, you get in a "winners bracket by winning! To remain in the WINNERS BRACKET is to win each proceeding game. Hemi's valid point is that being in the winners bracket you have more rest time between games thus you can use your good pitchers more often!

What's troubling to me about our tendency to lose the majority of our mudweek games is that we are using our second tier pitchers in them but so are most of the other schools we play. They have conference competition just like we do and you would think we could show better offense against those pitchers. FAMU was a sad loss given the score but sometimes all you need is one well pitched game on a given day and one ping and a pop and you win.

The errors and lack of timely hitting have been bugaboos for coach and this team. I'm hopeful that they can pull it together. I think Ali Knowles' brother, Perez will be a good one on the mound...

This team still has a run in it. But the future is bright for this team. Would be cool if Coach could go out as 2015 SB Champ.

I think if we can take the series this weekend we have a excellent shot at the winners bracket What in the world are you talking about? I took it to mean that it would increase our chances of a favorable seed in the tournament and thus our chances of staying in the winners bracket, but maybe I read too much into it.

I didn't mean to say winners bracket. It was on my mind as I typed lol.
But I only ment winning this weekend would greatly improve our odds. Having a top 4 seed would be great heading into the tourney
