I do feel bad for those coaches and players...
I think this is a good opportunity to snatch up some talent.

Step 1: Snag coaches Bryant Vincent, Duwan Walker & Chuck Dunn Step 2: Turn them loose on bringing the best Offensive & Defensive talent they've got Step 3: Turn them loose on pulling in these commitments they currently have: (FYI...Vincent is the lead recruiter for all 4 of these guys) - Kirk Livingstone - 3 Star DE
- Qua Boyd - 3 Star TE
- Michael Frederick - 3 Star RB
- Alex Byers - 3 Star WR

What if.....
Bill clark - dc - plus his staff.
Might not be the fit but how cool would that be.

Once this thing becomes official, any player that wishes to transfer will not be required to sit out and is eligible to play next season. There are several current Blazers that visited Troy during their recruitment period, I imagine that both Troy and South Alabama, along with several C-USA teams, will be pushing to get their players to commit as soon as possible. This may also effect the other sports programs at UAB so the mass exodus may be forthcoming. I really hate this for the players and coaches, maybe there will be a 'silver lining' at the end of the day for them all.
Go TROY!

Like both of these opportunity. RB Howard ran all over us in August. I hear a good kid too. Think he attended a larger high school in Birmingham area , Gardendale , so family in state what better place to stay but in Alabama

I hate this for their fans, players and coaches. I hate UAB as much as any of you, but I wouldn't wish this on anyone. I do think it might be an opportunity for us. However, chances are that their best players catch on with larger schools. Unless we get a coach or two from UAB, which I hope we do.
My only concern in all this is another conference shift. They will no longer be welcome in CUSA, which means they will be looking for another team, which most likely means another raid of the Sunbelt. I certainly hope not, though.

What, if anything, does UAB dropping football do for the perception of C-USA vs. Sunbelt? In the past, most would consider C-USA a better conference and would have expected it to be a Sunbelt team to have take this draconian-like measure. I mean, C-USA is the conference of milk and honey... right? TV, bowl games, huge markets...

It looks like UAB will be paying troy $400,000 to cancel the games already scheduled.

So, UAB is going to save all kinds of money by killing football, then pay it all out to schools whose contracts were violated an coaches with contracts but no teams? And when undergraduate applications drop like a stone and the school loses even more money, what's next? So stupid! So wrong!
