For Antonio Andrews, Western Kentucky’s problems on the football field are simple to hone in on. “We’ve just got to play with heart,” the WKU running back said. “We’re missing that. We’ve got to come together, play more as a team and leave it all out there. We’ve got to be confident in ourselves, that’s it. All the mental mistakes are just lack of focus, lack of confidence.” The Hilltoppers (4-3 overall, 1-2 Sun Belt Conference) can regain some of that confidence they saw during a three-game winning streak that ended Oct. 15 with a 37-20 loss at home to Louisiana-Lafayette by beating Troy (4-3, 2-1) at 3 p.m. today at Houchens-Smith Stadium. “We’ve got our backs against the wall, there’s no doubt about it,” WKU coach Bobby Petrino said. “What we need to do is come out and play well and find a way to win the game. We’ve just got to try to send the seniors out with a great season. “These guys have put a lot into this program, have changed things and helped us a lot in recruiting. They’re a lot of good football players, so we’re just trying to work to make sure the seniors finish the season right.” Troy has its own agendas today, looking for its first winning season since 2010 – also the last time it won the Sun Belt Conference, the final of five straight. The Trojans are still very much alive for an SBC championship this season and can take a major step in that direction with their first win in Bowling Green since 2009. ( Full Article) sFi_lance
