Refs suck and its an inside job with the NCAA pulling the strings. But, we are still just a glimmer of the team Jon coached. Just facts.

Watched it and did not hear the (The HC we don’t speak of)'ism. 205 is right. It was "A gritty group that is ready to get on that bus and go to Birmingham and take care of business".

Have not watched. But, if he said that. AD Jason Jones please give some advice on the whole “great group of guys” thing. Some of us cant hear that without drinking. And I have 3 hours on my day left including a call with my boss. Thats a “No No” phrase.

Can we at least be honest and admit that ADBJ had nothing to do with this hire. This was the micromanager CJH's hire and his alone. This is not a knock on ADBJ, but he is powerless under CJH. Trust me, this was strictly the hire between Parker, CJH and Neal Brown. If you notice the first quote on X (Twitter) on the hire released by the school is from Neal Brown. Again, nothing against AD BJ, but as at a lot of schools, the AD had nothing to do with this hire. This is false. This $hit head just showed up today. Dont feed the trolls. Men getting baby back but hurt over a hire says enough about them.

First thing DY did was watch a few pressers and mic’d up’s. Its a solid hire.

You naysayers do realize we were not hiring an OC right? Maybe ND is like AuBarn and wont take the cuffs off coaches? Saban demanded full control and look at the results. A coaches success sometimes can be directly affected by a roundtable and board members. The guy apparently interviewed well.

I am not saying we need to hire a head coach from the high school ranks. I am however saying that there is a Troy All American out there that needs to be brought on to the staff in some capacity:

I am now convinced we need to get Neal back. It’s making sense. Can yall see it? “The Return - LSU aint Sh!t” The story of a coaches return to glory and his CFB playoff run. I am just terrified of another Chippy and grasping at straws. Dude, I was kidding. The 10 million for the IPF wouldn't even cover his buyout. I did not realize they went 8-4. I thought the wheels were still falling off. So, yea not happening.

Look. DT was a Sumrall guy from way back. But, if Neal showed a remote interest in coming back home. Well I would be 100% on board. HCNB is a fluckin great coach. Especially when he is somewhere that props him up for success. WVU is not that place.

Was told by a couple people in the meeting that it was pretty much just held for Brent to say he held a meeting with former players. The feeling is that he will be going to get someone very random but that the hire will be decent. Lots of people complaining as to why we could keep Blakeney but cannot keep coaches now. If they can’t understand how Blakeney stayed so long and these guys are leaving then I really don’t want their opinion involved in the next hire. 100% that should be apparent. He had a love affair with Sisters Buffet and letting his assistants do most the work. And won a lot until the end. Was a match made in heaven.

Hire a man that loves to deer hunt. Take Austin Riley with the Braves for example. IMO you don't have to worry about him pulling a Freddie and letting his agent hold out until its too late. He would be miserable with a west coast team. From house in the burbs to the central GA deer camp is an hour or 2. We dont want a guy thats miserable in Troy where the whitetail numbers > people.
Or promote GG or JC. DT is starting to like GG. The bowl will be intersting.
Or go TickToc/Insta/ESPN greatness and nab a Caddy.
Anyone driving in between these line could be another Chippy.

You nailed it! 17-year old Privy Jet. I'd be nervous. Looks pretty nice on the inside. /photo/1 The best we could do to get his family to Troy was a 1980 Beech 200. Could not even get the man a newer King Air. www.flightaware.com/resources/registration/N721RD

I like what I saw from Cadillac. We are 1-1 with Auburn folk. All the things y’all have said, I agree are important. I just want a coach with some fire. That motivates me as a fan and that’s what I saw from Cadillac as interim. I’ll accept all logic on why he is not a good fit except “he is not ready for HC” as most of our options are unproven. Is he really not an option? Also, is Bill Clark really on the table after is medical retirement? 1/4 of the folks here said that Neal and Jon were not ready.

I have no affiliation with Troy. I was just curious as to who the new coach would be and found this thread. I see Mark Hudpseth's name mentioned in this thread. The guy wins games, but he's problematic. At UNA, he dumped his wife for a student. His wins at ULL were vacated. He was forced out at Austin Peay supposedly over an affair with a player's mother. Yes, he just won a state championship at Gulf Shores, but there's an investigation over ineligible players. Why hire a coach with a track record of scandal? A little baggage never prevented someone from getting the Troy job. Our all time winningest coach, who our field is named after, had a little baggage. I'm not saying we have no morals, but we take the hard cases and win. Larry was cheating with the Sisters Sunday Buffet.

The contract needs to include a buyout that is significant enough to keep our coach. Suprised at the Sumrall buyout. Back to back 10-2 seasons and it wont matter. Look what A&M paid just to make Jimbo go away. We need to pay enough for them to stay in the first place. Where is the China money going?

Agreed. Will be hard for me to pull for Tulane. I'm still trying to figure out why Sumrall put such a high priority on remaining the co-DC for Kentucky all the way through their Jan 1 bowl game... Yet he can't be Troy's HC all the way through our Dec 23 bowl game? I have to be honest. That's been bothering me the most. What is there to gain by him staying as head coach? He needs to recruit and we need to have our guy in place and securing recruits and commits. DT is bitter but sees the facts here.

Blew me away before they hired Uncle Fester. And only one on that list does the same tonight. Maybe I'm missing something but he has only been coaching eight years, two of them as a D2 RB coach, one in HS, only thing he has coached is RB, never been a coordinator and was 2-2 as interim HC I was saying Jon was my choice when the hired (The HC we don’t speak of).

Nobody on the list blows me away. Is that Brent's list or is it just speculation? Former HCJS did not blow away many folks on this board either. I just wrote it off to lack of knowledge of the man, fair enough. Blew me away before they hired Uncle Fester. And only one on that list does the same tonight.
