I'm sure you're right. I wonder why he hasn't already at least committed to Georgia though? He did Everything I've read says he hasn't committed to Georgia, despite receiving an offer to be a preferred walk-on. Even people replying on Twitter are thinking he has officially committed. That tweet doesn't say "I've committed to Georgia." It says "I am extremely thankful to receive an opportunity to continue my athletic career at the University of Georgia!"
It sounds to me like he is still deciding what he wants to do.

Will be interesting to see what he chooses.
From what I read, Georgia didn't offer him a scholarship, but offered him to come and be a preferred walk-on.
So do you choose to walk on at your dream school with no scholarship? Or choose Troy where you get a full-ride?
At least we still have Peyton Higgins. I think that dude will be our next Marcus Jones/Leodis McKelvin when it comes to kick returns. Getting Logan Johnson would just be icing on the cake because we could have Johnson and Higgins returning kicks.
The QB on his high school team is the 5 star recruit Georgia landed. His best friend. Call it preferred walk-in with grant money or a scholarship, Georgia wants him. He gone. I'm sure you're right. I wonder why he hasn't already at least committed to Georgia though?

Very stoked about this hire. We had some very good DB play under Pogue... and a lot of energy.

Austin Silvoy is at Austin Peay and is their new Co-Offensive Coordinator/Wide Receivers Coach. He just took the job so I imagine he will want to stay. He would be a good one. Go TROY! I'd be willing to bet Austin Silvoy, if offered, would jump at the opportunity to be the WR Coach/Offensive Coordinator at Troy. He gets a big FBS promotion, a pay raise, gets to coach at his alma mater, and it would lead to him getting an opportunity to be a head coach sooner than later.

Wish the young man well. Umm, yea Georgia offered him yesterday. His childhood dream school. Troy wasn’t going to keep him after that. The Big Boys got us on this one. Will be interesting to see what he chooses.

I'd take Jerrel Jernigan at WR coach all day long. He's coaching at Eufaula as we speak. He was the WR coach there... not sure if he's still coaching WR's or not. Or maybe another Trojan receiver from the past ends up on (The HC we don’t speak of)âs staff. Austin Silvoy?

According to FootballScoop, former Kansas offensive line coach Luke Meadows is expected to join the Troy staff in the same role.
He was fired from Kansas by Les Miles... but to be fair, Kansas is hard for any coach to be successful. That's like going to Vanderbilt... it's career suicide. But Meadows has been successful everywhere else he has been.
He was actually (The HC we don’t speak of) (The HC we don’t speak of)'s O-Line coach at Southern Miss when (The HC we don’t speak of) (The HC we don’t speak of) was OC there. They did win a CUSA division title while they were together.
In (The HC we don’t speak of)/Meadows' last year at USM together, USM's offense only allowed 1.8 sacks per game (Troy allowed 2.0 this season), had 180 rush yards per game (Troy had 103 this season), 329 pass yards per game (Troy had 290 this season), scored 40 points per game (Troy scored 27 ppg this season), they were #19 in the nation converting 3rd Downs (Troy was #26 this season), and #12 in the nation in Total Offense (Troy was #65 this season).
This may be a good pairing, assuming (The HC we don’t speak of) and Meadows seemingly do well together. Maybe he'll bring some maturity to the O-Line room.

Jordan Lesley's / Vic Koenning's defense at #4. Maybe give Lesley a call when the Troy HC job opens up. JL won't get a lot of support here. Derrick Ansley for CB coach at Troy? That'd be a very good hire.

But would he have left if he had been promoted to OC with a pay raise? Where is our AD? Very little coming out of our athletic department. Would he have made $400,000 per year as the OC at Troy? Very unlikely. That's what Cornelius Williams is about to get paid just to be a WR coach at Auburn. To compare, he was making $80,000 per year at Troy as WR coach. Vic Koenning was the highest paid DC in the Sun Belt before he left, and he was only making $250,000 per year. Makes all the sense in the world to take a humongous pay raise at an SEC school. Makes no sense to become an OC at Troy, and not even be calling the plays. That won't get you anywhere. That was Rhett Lashlee's problem at Auburn... everyone knew he didn't call the plays, so his career trajectory went flat... and he wound up taking the same position at UConn.

It seemed like Ray Brown was a good CB coach. I hate that we lost him to Utah State for the same position... I'm guessing John Hartwell is giving the coaching staff there a nice budget to work with like he did here.
I feel like the administration here (including Hawkins & Co.) is slowly letting us fall into Southern Miss status... program with a lot of tradition that wants to keep on winning, but unwilling to pay the money to do so... and now the once proud Southern Miss program is lagging behind their conference peers.
That will be Troy soon if something isn't changed.

We were down 6 players. The best player, Nick Stampley, hardly played because he got injured. Jakevan Leftridge (key player) has been out for a few games now with an injury. Duke Miles (a starter) was out. And then Antwan Burnett and Miles Mendes were out.
Yet we still had chances in both games to beat Georgia Southern. That's improvement despite the loss.

Yikes.... this one will unfortunately hurt his career. Left Troy to go to Baylor, gets fired by Baylor in a matter of days, and now is in limbo with no job. That's a real bummer. College kids do crazy things. cornhole relieved there was no internet/tweety/snapthing in his day. I don't agree that it should harm his career, seeing that this picture is 10 years old and he was only around 21 years old when this took place. On top of that, he likely had no bad intentions with it other than to pretend to be a famous celebrity couple with the girl in the photo. Unfortunately, in this weird time we're in right now, those kind of things seem to ruin careers. The same as Koenning at WVU talking out loud about his political views wound up getting him called a racist... and ultimately let go.

Head Scratcher can't hold Hugh Freeze's jock strap as a head football coach or offensive coach so I admire your optimism But I thought it was all about character? So Freezeâs KNOWN indiscretions are OK for coaching, but (The HC we don’t speak of)âs ALLEGED ones disqualify him from coaching? Iâll concede Hughâs results have been impressive. Iâll concede that Coastalâs have also. But, I wouldnât want those coaches guiding our program. I wish we were succeeding like Nealâs tenure. But we havenât. The Admin, right or wrong, is behind (The HC we don’t speak of). Seems like the players are. Why donât we all get behind him for the sake of the program? If it works out, then ... Go TROY GO! If it doesnât, then Go (The HC we don’t speak of) Gooooo, git on outta here! Wishin all of yâall a great 2021. Looking forward to seeing improvement for our boys in Cardinal. Somebody gets it!

I doubt an upgrade happens... The (The HC we don’t speak of) Ship sheâs a sinking. 80% of these coaches wonât make it past 2021 in Trojan cardinal. At least I hope not. So... it sounds like you'd rather us have another losing season so (The HC we don’t speak of) & Co. leave, instead of wishing the best for the coaches and players to have a spectacular season that continues for every season afterward? The amount of hate for (The HC we don’t speak of) (The HC we don’t speak of) is still unreal to me.

It sure is a +++ to see all these Trojan FB Players so positive about next year. They certainly are in a position to have a better handle on the program than those on this board who accept rumors and innuendo as direction of the program. There has been NO Exodus through the Portal as several here have predicted. This team appears to be loaded going into 2021-22 season. Team has been loaded the last two years. It is great the players are coming back..it's to bad that head scratcher is back to lead them to another 5-7 year. I disagree... 2019 was definitely not a loaded team after so many key players transferred and got injured.
In 2020 we definitely had more depth, but having some rough QB play didn't help. Many big scoring plays this season where a wide-open WR was downfield, and Free or Watson either didn't see them or checked down too quickly to the RB for a minimal gain.
