My cable/internet bill went from just over $170/month to about $205. I cut the cord, went with Hulu + Live TV. After paying for that and the internet needed to stream it, I was saving about $50/month. Then, at the end of the 2020 MLB season, HULU lost the rights to broadcast the regional sports channels. I’m as big a baseball fan as I am a football fan, so I had to explore options. ATT Direct was the only streaming service that would provide all that my wife and want to watch. The bill for streaming/internet would have been $5/month less than cable. I went back to Comcast and they agreed to 2 years at the previous rate. I reconnected cable, no streaming hassle, and am saving money. I don’t see myself streaming again. I miss having Comcast. It was awesome.

All those are good options…if you don’t want to watch Braves baseball.🤷♂️ Main reason I kept cable so long. Just moved to DIRECTV Stream which has Bally. I pay more but can watch from anywhere now versus with Mediacom.

Footballscoop.com reporting Troy: Sources tell FootballScoop Jon Sumrall has retained outside linebackers coach Bam Hardmon and head strength coach Rusty Whitt. Per HCJS interview on 97.7 the Zone last night with Steve Moulton and Wes Neighbors it sounds like Al Pouge is being retained as well. They asked if he was leaning on any coaches as his right hand man and coach explained his relationship with Bam and Al. Here is the link to the interview. 977espn.com/podcasts/97-7-espn-the-zone-podcast I can't find the interview from yesterday morning on the same channel.

The Huntsville connection?? ... . Born June 2, 2001, in Huntsville, Ala. … Son of Tamara and Glenn Pettus … Has one brother, Micah, and one sister, Makayla … Father played football at Alabama A&M and mother played basketball at Alabama A&M .. 2019 Freshman All-American (Pro Football Focus) 2019 All-Sun Belt Honorable Mention 2020 All-Sun Belt Third Team Dell went to Sparkman in Harvest(Madison county) which is in the country part of Huntsville/Madison. I’m sure this definitely played a factor. Plus coach Sumrall may have recruited Dell as a Junior at Sparkman.

The more and more I hear HCJS talk the more I like him. To the point I feel stupid for not wanting him three years ago.

Was hoping we could have placed the covid rescheduled NCSU game here but it looks like that is slated for 2028.

Very excited for our outlook moving forward in regards to recruiting. With Jax State moving up to that shell of a conference and UA’sB moving to the second best G5 conference, it’s important we win the state over when it comes to in-state recruiting. I know we’ve all been excited in general for the hire, but I feel like most are underestimating the impact that this will have with JS being a Huntsville guy. If we can recruit that talent rich area and steal some gems from those sorry teams, we’ll be bound to exceed in more ways than one. Living in Huntsville Metro this my favorite part about HCJS is he is a Huntsville guy. I would say we may have more athletes at Troy now than traditional students from this area.

Does anyone have any thoughts on a potential staff? Reagan as OC? Three guys I’d like to see on staff in some capacity are Al Pogue, Evan McKissack, and Trey Dunbar. Cornelius Williams was a fine recruiter as well. That's one of the names I would love to see back with Brian Blackmon. Hate he was used as a scapegoat at Auburn. I wonder if CJS will try to keep Brandon Hall.

With both Dell and CJS being from the Huntsville Metro area, I feel like this definitely will play a factor. Coach may have even recruited him as a Junior at Sparkman.

Some of the things I am hearing make me very nervous about this search. Clock is ticking. Hearing way too much chatter about a HS coach being in the mix. If we don't have an announcement soon I am afraid this will be a disappointment. if the HS coach in Pat Nix, he will be on display tonight. My top choices are Sumerall, Moore, or Ansley, I just want Troy to be respected again, discipline to be back in the program, trojan Walk to be not sloppy, and W's to occur That's true he is. I agree with those choices but Dell McGee is at the top of my list with those names following. Now I know nothing at all but I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't hear anything official before Monday or Tuesday next week because of Conference Championships. Sunday night at the earliest.

This is Auburn board rumors: Pat Nix to Troy? Currently it is just Auburn (VIP) board rumors: - Mike Bobo just resigned from Auburn - Pat Nix might be headed to Troy (not sure HC or OC role) - Bo Nix was asked/teased today about his brother Caleb Nix allegedly committing to Troy (during radio interview) - Bo is seriously considering leaving Auburn (via transfer portal) EDIT - - - There is also Sumrall rumors though. The Nix's I can deal with but Bobo is awful as an OC and HC. He was awful taking over what was a decent program when McElwain left Colorado State for Florida.

From what the athletic is reporting (who knows validity of this stuff anymore) the only real race would be if we wanted Dell McGee. And Dell is the best for the job.

Keep an eye on Kentucky linebackers coach Jon Sumrall, the Wildcats’ co-defensive coordinator, a Huntsville native. He’s on a lot of athletic directors’ radars because of how well thought of he is in coaching circles. He had been a key assistant for Brown. He earned the title of assistant head coach in addition to his role coaching linebackers and working as special teams coordinator as Brown rebuilt the Trojans program. He has also been a very good recruiter for Stoops. We expect Sumrall, 41, to get a head coaching job soon. AMAZING!!! All the people that Are paid for their educated opinion on college football have one guy at the top of the list for Troy. One anonymous poster(Troyflowsaintrider) who had his feelings hurt by Brent Jones hates the Sumrall idea because if will be a solid hire by Brent. The biggest think I would like if Sumrall would be hired is that it should bring a lot of Troy momentum to North Alabama which is badly needed. Troy is an after thought up here.

From Bruce Feldman, one of the most respected college football writers: list of candidates for troy. First mentioned: Keep an eye on Kentucky linebackers coach Jon Sumrall, the Wildcats’ co-defensive coordinator, a Huntsville native. Other names: Tommie Robinson, Lance Taylor, Dell McGee, Jordan Lesley, and Derrick Ansley Dell McGee should be at the top of the list. Like it should have been the last time.

Glenn Shumann is going to get hired by someone. He might be worth a shot. Co DC at UGA and only 31. We should have hired Jon Sumrall. The players knew it, the fans knew it, everyone knew it except Hawkins and AD Golden Chicken View AttachmentWrong thuga coach. Dell McGee!

I don’t like being in the western division. I know the East is much harder but iron sharpens iron. I don’t want to lose the App game from the schedule. Same but with the Ga schools for me.

Well done. Need to retire the white lids. Ugh. Cardinal lids are top notch. We should do white only with the digi camo or stars and stripes logo in my opinion it just looks better that way.
