SaJason Finley is the new strength coach The guy that was just let go from USM? He is from USM. He met the boys yesterday and led their weight workouts and running workouts.

Impressive red zone stats for defense! Special teams for us will be key. I'm am so ready to see a KOR open up for Jabir...It's coming... Agreed. I think he's going to develop into a player who's a lot better than his recruiting ranks. I don't feel that those recruiting ranks always reflect how good a player is.

Its impressive when you have two true freshman that Coach Brown said this week that they were going to more deliberate about getting Gaston, Crowder and Kelley in the game early in the rotation. That'll help give us some fresh legs when we get late in the game.

First off to the stat comparison, keep in mind Mullens and Ito Smith only played a quarter and a half against Savannah St. And while I am impressed with the game you guys gave Clemson, keep in mind two things. 1. #9 Georgia only beat FCS Nichols St. by 2 points and should have lost the game. There is a big difference between a team playing flat and having the same talent. 2. YOU LOST! Chill out, dude. There was nowhere in my comments any derrogative remarks about USM. I was just stating the facts for conversation. But since you started it.... First, I finished by comparing the two teams against their toughest opponent. Kentucky 0-2. Clemson 2-1. Second, I would agree that we may not have the same talent in some positions as Clemson. However, based on your comment one would surmise that USM has equal talent to Kentucky then. I'm not so sure that's a good thing. Third, Clemson has a Heisman trophy candidate and Kentucky doesn't. Our defense (equal talent or not in your opinion) did limit Watson and force him, not the backup QB, to throw two INTs. It may give you a warm fuzzy thinking that Troy's performance Saturday was a fluke. But, at the same time I bet the USM coaches are taking the Men of Troy for granted. Maybe you shouldn't either.

USM
N. Mullens , 9 34-48, 474 YDS, 5 TD, 4 INT
RUSHING YARDS
TROY
J. Chunn , 38 28 CAR, 205 YDS, 1 TD

44 CAR, 301 YDS, 2 TD
RECEIVING YARDS
TROY
D. Douglas, 80
18 REC, 138 YDS, 2 TD
USM
I. Jones, 88
6 REC, 175 YDS, 2 TD
Team Stats Troy USM Points Per Game 40.5 50.0
Points Allowed Per Game 23.5 17.5
Total Yards 546.0 567.5
Yards Passing 284.0 252.0
Yards Rushing 262.0 315.5
Yards Allowed 334.0 225.0
Pass Yards Allowed 226.5 171.5
Rush Yards Allowed 107.5 53.5
Pretty close stats through first 2 games. If you take out the weakest opponent for each team and compare the results, USM has a slight statistical advantage. And I mean slight. However, USM's defense didn't play against the No 2 team in the country and the No 1 Heisman Trophy candidate. Kentucky on the other hand hasn't broken .500 since 2009 and have been a dismal 12-26 since Stoops arrived. The key in my opinion will be special teams and how well we finish. A lot of emotions and effort was left on the field in Clemson, which is the way it ought to be. Obviously, I'm pulling for T and will be in the stands yelling for them. Passing: USM +25 yds Rushing: USM +121 yds QB Interceptions: Troy +1 INT by defense: Troy +1 PA:Troy -5 points PF: USM +18 Yards allowed: USM +5

I'm just trying to understand how you can claim to love the school, but absolutely despise everything about the town, county and geographic area it sits in. I'm sure if the city of Troy were to lure in 15 brand new eating establishments, a dozen nice hotel chains, construct 34 new parking areas and reconfigure Troy Regional airport in to Hartsfield International, you will find something else to B**** about. Your constant complaining and nitpicking is ridiculous. Not hard to understand. Think Bourbon Street, great place to party and have fun but you wouldn't want to live on it. Issue with the area around the University is the majority (not all) of the people do not support or have a distain for the University, literally biting the hands that feed them. This is not right and frankly should be called out so it is pushed to change. Troy is what Troy is, a small town in the wiregrass of Alabama built in a US highway to the beach. Maybe I am a little harsh but the self righteous attitudes of the majority in the area are BS and it's sad because it brings my University down. I just filled out a survey that was sent to me from the athletic department about my game day experience. It has a place to leave where you enter contact info and other comments. I'm sure the administration will be glad to contact you so that you can personally discuss your concerns with them.

We find out how good we are when we play Southern Miss - the QB has broken Favre records - they are pretty good! We win that and every game after is winnable - something we could not say in the past 3 to 4 years. I'm optimistic we will be much better this year. While I'll agree so Miss has a talented QB, Troy does as well. Also, there will be far more at that position the week prior. There's no doubt the secondary will be challenged early and often, but I'm ready to see what's going to happen! Actually, when you compare sophomore years, Cox in '15 outperformed Mullens in '14. And that was with a less than stellar OL last year. Brandon threw 1 interception for every 3 Tds, while Mullens threw 1 pick for every TD his sophomore year. Brandon's passer rating was also higher. 138 to 133. If our OL gets better and with the addition of more skill players he could have a breakout Jr season also. So Miss does return Mullens, a very good OL and a 1,000 yard rusher but will miss two go-tos in Thomas and Martin who no doubt helped Mullins to the CUSA offensive player of the year in '15. This game could come down to defense, which hopefully, our stingy defense will pluck a few feathers and not let him stand in the pocket because he's not a proven scrambler having had negative yards rushing in 9 of 14 games last year. I'm sure they'll be favored but again, if our OL steps it up I like our chances.

Does anybody know where I could purchase a full sized Trojan football helmet? Id like to get the team to sign it that day. My son started this year on the team and I'd like to have one signed for each year he's at Troy.
