Still pissed about the outcome, but as others have said, there was good yesterday. It socks, I thought this would be our turning point but alas, not yet. Beat Marshall!

I'm going to say it: We were robbed. The refs definitely did not help us...

Everyone needs to understand that there is a middle ground. Did HCJS need to say he messed up? Yep, because we all saw him do it. I'm glad he didn't pass the blame. Am I passed that we lost a game we should've won? Yup, and am going to be for a while. I don't care what paper says, App St beat TAM last week regardless of what was on paper. We should've done that today and choked on the paper. Do I want any coaches fired? No, and most others done either. I love to see accountable coaches, he made a bad gamble and owned up too it. Cool, still mad about it but I'll get over it.
I'll be there next weekend with my band of 30 kids enjoying the game and cheering on the good guys.
Today just hurts and it's going to hurt for a while

I'll agree the safety didn't lose the game, but I will never say it was the smart play. I think that we were in a bad situation and needed to do something different. We got a kid that can boom a punt and we essentially squib it....

App was flat after last week and we still lost yes we did but the fight to the end is a positive Perhaps they weren’t flat. Perhaps TROY is better than you are giving them credit for. If they were they should've won the game

I’m gonna look at the positive…. This is the best we have looked since Brown left and if you remember Browns first Year it wasn’t a great record but we SAW that we looked better… this is looking like that to me. Who had us deciding the game in the final 2 seconds? Not me, I figured we would get waxed The loss hurts tho. Moral victories mean nothing at this point. Did I figure we'd get beat? Yea, most did. But we won the fking game and a bone headed coaching move lost the game in the last 10 seconds....no excuses....WIN THE GAME!

Nah, I'm not placing all of this on the DBs.....punt the ball and pin them back, not take a fking safety and decent position. That was our game and we S*** the bed the last 10 seconds

I'm neither happy nor sad that CBH is leaving for OU.....I think he didn't do well in the game as THC but I don't think that XCCL left him much to work with for that game....his d was good for the majority of the year, I'll give him that at least. Good luck Coach!

I'm hearing Bo Nix to Troy? Does that mean Patrick is coming as well hence the reason I posted in the Coaching staff update Got a couple of texts from Auburn friends today I don't see that happening even if Patrick does come to Troy

this could be us in a few years. Schedule the tough ones and most importantly win them all Not saying it is impossible but our level of athletic budget is about 60% of what they have at their disposal. It makes a difference. For instance say Sumrall gets us rolling. Four mill -5 million and mill a piece for coordinators is tough to keep up. That excellence fund is going to have to really surprise all of us. Hard to get alumni to donate when: 1. Most have very little disposable income due to their jobs (military, education, etc.) (dat's me) 2. They have never attended on campus (international/online classes) 3. They're sitting in Bryant-Denny and Jordan-Hare on Saturdays

Why would Derrick Ansley make the move?? 1) He's one of the highest paid DB Coaches in the NFL, earning a cool $1+ mill a year with Oakland after leaving Tennesee, where he grossed $1 Mill a year. His current salary with the Chargers is reported between $1 > $2 Mill. annually. Other NFL Coaches at his level earn up to $3 mill. 2) He's never been under the pressure of a HC and has not demonstrated the skills and intangibles required for the Job. A HC is the top manager of all facets of the Football Program, internal affairs, external affairs and PR, Press and Stakeholder relationships etc. I'm not convinced that he's a personality fit for the job. 3) Derrick's role in the NFL requires no recruiting, limited after/additional hours in the off season and minimal headaches. He focuses on what he's good at. Why would he want to take on the headaches of an NCAA HC when he's doing quite well where he is. 4) Risk. He's got a bright future in the NFL just doing his thing. Come to Troy, take on the headaches for a lateral salary shift, and possible fail... No security in NCAA Football these days. Nah, Derrick's no dummy. 5) The only draw for Derrick, IMO , is sentimental attachment to Troy U and he and his wife live closer to home. I just don't see it. good points but I will counter with he will need to get HC experience somewhere “IF” that’s the path he wants for his coaching career. And I think there in lies the question, is that the direction that he wants to go? Making a lateral move makes no sense other than to get HC experience, so we'll see. I know what my answer would be though

This is only my opinion, but my guess is the decision has been made and will be announced following the games this coming weekend. We will likely have our coach by next Monday. He will fly to campus, with his family, and be introduced to the Trojan Nation. I do wish Coach (The HC we don’t speak of) the best, in his 20+ years of coaching, he has never been anywhere this long (3 seasons). Look on the calendar for November 29 to meet our next Coach. With early recruiting in December, we can't be passive, we must be proactive! By the way, Happy Thanksgiving to all! Go TROY! I think your timeline's off......I think we get a coach sooner rather than later, but less than a week is absolutely stretching the rubber band to it's thinnest point

SOTS isn't shrinking...that I know of anyway. The thing about numbers is that it's not always the best thing to go on. Recruitment relies so heavily on high school bands in the area and right now most, if not all, of those programs are hurting, some of them badly. I know my numbers are down this year, but I have more than last year. Covid is hitting high school programs hard and that's going to impact college numbers.
I agree about the social media presence, BUT it has gotten better since I was there from 2008-2013. We at least have a social media presence that posts on multiple platforms.
As far as the shows, they've missed for me lately more than they've hit, although I don't mind the Elton show. The band is there for the crowd and has to entertain, but that's getting harder to do with ads, sponsorships, etc. during the game. The ability to have new songs arranged is extremely important though, some of those songs can cost upwards of 5k each, depending on the publisher.

This was freaking horrible, no matter how the game goes honestly. 31-7 at the half and they make adjustments and we don't, yet again. When is Jack going to admit that Dippy has no clue how to coach a freaking team? I just don't understand it man
