I’m I the only one that can’t see the photo? What am I doing wrong?

I know we’ve thrown out a few names that we would or would not like to see hired but has anyone heard anything other than there is a short list? I heard Pelphrey was a possibility from a Bama guy, not anyone connected to Troy. I want to know if there is any news from a Troy connection.

No doubt Hubert Davis knows basketball. I would worry a little about his short coaching resume. I’m sure he’s learned a lot where he is but being a head coach is different than being a real good assistant. I wouldn’t hate it if he came. We have to have a coach, a recruiter and an administrator. He could probably do the first two well.

I’ve also heard Acuff mention as possibly going to Tuscaloosa as an assistant if Prohm is hired as HC there. I believe Acuff has been in Huntsville for 21 years because he and his family like the situation they’re in. Either he or his wife have family there, he’s had tons of success, it’s a good school in a great town and he’s only a few years away from a full RSA retirement. At that point he will still have a lot of years of coaching ahead of him. I don’t think he’s been there this long because he can’t go anywhere else. He gets a lot of respect in coaching circles.

I know Hawkins told a friend a few days ago that Jeremy has a very short list. I wonder if Alabama blowing up their staff will affect that list. I’ve been hoping for Lenny Acuff but John Pelphrey would probably be a great fit.

I wish we could get a coach like Lenny Acuff at UAF. He seems to be a class guy that recruits well and coaches up. I think he’s taken UAF to the NCAA tournament 10 times in 20 years.

Trojanpastor, I really enjoyed reading that. Straight to the point of what we want to know. Area newspapers should buy that from you and publish it. I hope you contribute more information like this.

That would be great if you could bring him. Maybe they will have a good aerial of the flag covering the field that you can take to him.

I totally agree. I like to pull up this board to see if I can learn something about Troy and then I have to move on to next thing in life. There are too many days where this board declines into a version of the Finebaum show, where Troy sports are no longer the topic. It’s just a few folks fussing. Im guessing there are others, like me, that don’t care and don’t want to wade through that crap to get to a little Troy news.
I wish the admin could move those post to a personal thread just to get them out of the way.

I will say I think there is a time when you need to let up by sending in the 2 and 3’s. Alabama was also up 28 when Prothro broke his leg. But it was in the 4th quarter and Florida was not threatening. I don’t know what was the purpose of continuing to play their starters.

In general, TOP is a useless stat. To extend TOP you need first downs. Taking energy out of the game hurts your ability to get first downs. If we could have kept the same offensive mindset we may could have picked up a few. Then we would have had the ball longer.

At the half, CNB said he was going to tell the team the score is 0-0. He wanted the team to play with energy and not play like they just scored 35 unanswered points. But the play calling was exactly like we were up 50. When we “manage the clock” early we lose tempo. With tempo goes energy. I’m not questioning CNB’s coaching ability, I’m questioning what he said and what we saw. I’m glad we won but the 2nd half gives me concern.

Over the last few weeks I’ve seen several bronco fans on this board saying they want to sit on the Troy side just to meet people. I think you will enjoy it. There will be some BSU fans in 112 and we look forward to meeting them. You won’t have to worry about the sun being in your eye. You also might be in one of the first sections to be in the shade.

We got our season tickets in 112 back in the spring and there was not much available there then. I wanted to move back one row but I just kept what I had last year.

Yes they did. I liked what I saw on offense. In the second half I felt like the defense was a half a step behind. I thought the refs called the game a little too tight. It was nice to 23 playing well.

We can take the question mark off his name. Varnado didn’t start but was 3 for 3 a couple of minutes after he cam in. He hit 4 out of 5 of his first shots with several rebounds.

I know we are getting a little off topic but are some of y’all saying you are just as jacked up to be opening at home in 2019 against the Campbell Camels as you are opening up with Boise at home next year? I don’t get that. Im a Troy fan no matter what but the bigger the opponent the bigger the excitement and energy. I want us to be bigger and better and I want us to beat bigger and better.

Dec 16th Troy plays UNT in football and Arkansas in basketball. Right now I’m much more interested in the basketball game.
