Yes. I will take back my previous prediction of a dog walking of Duke. This certainly changes things. No telling what we get in that game now. When Jon took the position at Troy, he came to campus, worked his tail off, went back to Coach at Kentucky's Bowl Game. I expect he will be on the sidelines in Birmingham as well. No offense to Jon but I'd rather he not only because I don't think that's usually best in any circumstance. I'd rather hire a new HC and have them there watching, observing, and preparing for next year.

As much as I like and respect you, corn. I highly doubt he’ll be there. What Possum said. At Kentucky he was DC. When HC moves it’s all hands on deck at new place. Hence why Troy already named an interim HC.

We are senior dominated team who do not want their legacy and last memory to be a bad one even with the new circumstances. In an area where we should have a better crowd than Mayonnaise people I think we win by 35.

I will be happy to post about my team and answer questions if desired but I don’t desire to invade your board uninvited. Some actual football talk would be welcome about now. Bring it. Quarterback Grayson Loftis is a true freshman who started the season as the third string guy. He has started the last four games and is 2-2 with wins over Wake Forest and Pittsburgh, losses to North Carolina and Virginia. Loftis is a pocket passer with the ability to throw deep. While he hasn’t shown a lot running the ball I believe this has more to do with the coaches being cautious than a lack of ability. We can’t afford another injury at quarterback. The offensive line has dealt with injuries to left tackle Graham Barton and center/guard Jacob Monk. The OL is a strength when healthy and I’m optimistic the time off between the last game and the bowl game will allow these guys to get real close to 100% healthy. Duke is best when the offense is balanced so we will look to establish the run game behind the talented big guys. Running back is a position of strength with Jordan Waters (5.3 ypc) and Jaquez Moore (5.9 ypc) leading the way. Waters is a power runner but has the speed to take it to the house. Moore is a speedster if he gets in space.

The coach thing is a bit of kick in the nads but we are a senior led team and really do expect to annihilate you guys to show everyone in the polls voting they screwed up. Now I could be wrong but do expect a 45-10 score or something like that. Unless we have guys going into portal before and with coaching change you just never know.

By the way I am voicing that much bravado correct or not because with Summarlless thing and early signing period etc it maybe a while until we can even remotely say such bold things and even come close to being correct

Jaylen Coleman (4.1 ypc) is our third running back. He has had an injury filled career but has seen action late in the season. Duke will rotate backs always keeping fresh legs in the game.
Our most productive receiver is Jordan Moore who has 59 receptions for 794 yards and 8 touchdowns followed closely by Jalon Calhoun who has 48 catches for 642 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Duke typically lines up with three wide receivers, one tight end and one running back.
When (if) the Troy defense forces a punt, punter Porter Wilson is an All American. Duke uses Wilson as a weapon to win the field position battle.
More to follow…

Who knows who will show on the field or on the sideline. Stay tuned, things should shake out over the next 7-10 days. BTW, some fine memories here as visiting Fan for GaTech, Tulane and Troy games vs Cutcliffe-led teams @ Wallace Wade in years past. Great fans as well and beautiful campus.

Wallace Wade Stadium is a great place to watch football. Thanks for the kind words about Duke fans. We always try to be great hosts to opposing teams (except Carolina).

I really have no idea now with all that happened how this game will go are what team shows up. I just wanted to start the bravado and see what sort of banter we can get going because we like Duke have had someone pee in our Cheerios.

Saw where several coaches followed Elko to A&M already A big unknown overall. Our OL and cornerback coaches are headed to A&M. We just hired Manny Diaz but Interim HC Trooper Taylor will coach the bowl game. All indications are OC Kevin Johns and DC Tyler Santucci are staying at Duke at least through the bowl game. We have had very few players announce for the transfer portal but quarterback Riley Leonard is a big loss, he is recovering from surgery and wasn’t going to be available to play.

Just to note, Sections 124, 125 and 126 (between the 35's) opened with over 300 available today at $100 each, Ticketmaster plays games. Noticed that! ALL three sections on the EAST side, which appears to be Duke's side. On that side of the field, of the 23 sections from endzone to endzone TEN sections with 100+ tickets available. The mirror image of that on the WEST side (Troy's side) only FIVE sections with 100+ tickets available. Surprisingly one of those sections is section 106 (one of the original sections released to Troy), either people do not like the end zone OR the thought of sitting next to SOTS
