This was a great win. We are not only in the lead in the SunBelt West but bowl eligible. I hope the injuries weren't too serious because we have a short week to play that other team down South.

What a team effort! They kept chopping wood and our staff made great adjustments at half time.
Now let’s hate a demoralized 🚫 who has no chance of playing for a championship…..AGAIN

Awwww. I feel bad my rep points went down. Nobody cares about rep points and those that do are the age of my picture posted here. I'm celebrating the win! Just maybe making a downpayment on future player-haters. Maybe they'll think dos.

Some of yall can make anything unfun. Great game, Watson is showing why the coaches have always had faith in him. Just be happy yall. We are coming together as a complete team. Our defense has always been stout, but now when we get the ball on offense, I really like what I see. Craddock called a really good game tonight. We knew TxST was going to stop the run, yet Craddock kept pounding and made them give up opportunities in the pass game. Watson threw the ball really well and he is fast. I mean he is so fast I would like to see him in a race with Kaleb Barker. South is in big trouble. We have graduated from a good team to a great team. I hope we pack the vet this Thursday.

What an electrifying showdown it was as our Troy Trojans took on the Texas State Bobcats in a Sun Belt Conference battle for the ages. Despite a halftime deficit, our Trojans roared back with an unstoppable second-half performance, ultimately claiming a resounding 31-13 victory! The stats may tell a tale of a hard-fought battle, but it was our Trojan spirit that truly set us apart. With 420 yards of total offense and an incredible 392 passing yards, our offense was firing on all cylinders. Yet, it was our rock-solid defense that shone the brightest, forcing FOUR turnovers and holding Texas State to just 5-of-17 on third and fourth downs! 🛡️💥 The first half was a rollercoaster ride, with Texas State taking an early lead, but our Trojans answered the call. Gunnar Watson showed his mettle with a brilliant 392-yard, three-touchdown performance, while Jabre Barber had a career night with 10 catches for 160 yards and a touchdown! 🌟 The turning point came in the third quarter when Watson connected with Jabre Barber for a 29-yard touchdown pass, swinging the momentum back in our favor. From that moment on, it was all Troy. Watson's precision continued with two more touchdown passes to Deshon Stoudemire and Landon Parker, solidifying our lead. Scott Taylor Renfroe added a field goal, sealing the deal. 🎯 On the defensive front, senior Dell Pettus led the charge with 12 tackles, while Caleb Ransaw, Jayden McDonald, Irshaad Davis, and Buddha Jones all played crucial roles. Richard Jibunor, Reddy Steward, and Jordan Stringer made game-changing plays, earning a sack, interceptions, and a forced fumble, respectively. The entire defense stood tall and proud! 💪 But it's not just the stats that matter; it's the heart and dedication that define this team. Coach Jon Sumrall's emotional words about Gunnar Watson are a testament to the unbreakable bond in our Troy family. Together, we overcome any adversity! 🤝 Our next challenge awaits as we host South Alabama in the "Battle for the Belt" on Thursday, a game set to air nationally on ESPN2. Let's carry this triumphant energy forward and continue to rally behind our Trojans! Congratulations to our Troy Trojans on this spectacular victory. Together, we rise, and together, we conquer. 💥🏆 #OneTroy #TrojanPride -All stats gathered from Josh "Scoop" Boutwell's article: "Second Half Surge Lifts Troy Over Texas State on the Road". We love you Scoop! www.troymessenger.com/2023/10/28/second-half-surge-lifts-troy-over-texas-state-on-the-road/

I've been a big critic of Gunnar over the years and for very good reason. I'm not even remotely going to apologize. He plays lights out when he has protection, but is mediocre at best when protection breaks down. I'm glad that the OLine has been playing better, which has led to him playing better as well.

The QB whose performance doesn’t suffer when the protection provided him by the O line is weak is like unto Sasquatch. He may exist in the wild, he may not, but finding conclusive evidence he exists is nearly impossible. Cam Newton, Lamar Jackson, even Tom Brady all play better when they have adequate protection. Gunnar is no different. He has proven that he’s a physically tough competitor who knows how to win ballgames, even when things aren’t ideal. That’s all we can reasonably ask from any QB. I’m glad we have it in Gunnar.

I have been one also. And as such, I will also say he’s played much much better the past couple weeks. I’m glad to see that for him and for us. And I also appreciated HCJS supporting his team and QB1. That reasonates and will rally folks inside and outside the locker room (fans, recruits, transfers). Great job TROJANS. See yall Thursday… bringing 8… 3 new potential fans.

I’ve always trusted this coach and his staff to put the best product on the field to help us win. Are some of the wins ugly? Absolutely!! But a win is a win and sumrall knows what he is doing! 18-4 doesn’t come easy!
