Not sure is going to be calling offensive plays but perhaps with Gunnar's experience how about him calling audible at line for plays this week. I know not the forte of the team or allowed under (The HC we don’t speak of) but really would be helpful when we have zone read into a run blitz called and we do it anyway to lose 2-4 yards despite having some dang good backs.

Iâm making this comment based on eyeballs with zero knowledge of the system or how (The HC we don’t speak of) implemented it. Gunnar is slow at reading things and making decisions - post snap. Itâs why he gets sacked often and throws late. Heâs better than Powell moving the chains, but heâs slow to make decisions. So, hereâs the comment⦠if Gunnar isnât any better at pre-snap reads than post, then Iâm not sure audibles help much. Also, if the system (which it may not knowing who implemented it) doesnât already have designed audibles that have been practiced for 12-16 weeks, then again, not sure the 12th game is where Iâd start them. Not a slam on Gunnar, heâs our best bet. Hoping the overall play calling outs him and O in better spot than they have been.

Just saying there are times a blind dog could see the play called is going NO WHERE so even 5-6 times in a game could be the difference. Yes, it needs to be practiced but NO SAFETY means slant by wide out and 9 in box means PLEASE DO NOT RUN a read that is really not a read. My wife who is a novice at best asks why we run a play to where all the defensive guys are there before the snap. If she can do that Gunnar probably can see it too.

Some of it is sooooooooo obvious. Great points by you. Extra credit to your wife for caring and cheering for our team with that kind of passion!! Go TROJANS! I do envision myself saying it like Coach O says Geaux Tigers, but Iâm not even close!! ðð¤£ðð¤£. Every time he says that I want to go tackle somebody.

If Powell can execute the RPO, might well give him another shot. Maybe just platoon the two QBs based on the sitution.

Neither has been super effective on their own the way it was run. I think Powell is braced up big time (I think that was him I saw on the sideline). I’m not sure if his wheels are back to fully inflated. But it’s game 12. It’s Bowl-eligible or not. My guess is the team will be willing to do anything - try new things. I hope the coaches are too! My guess is everyone will be bought in on Sat. Go TROJANS!

My guess is everyone will be bought in on Sat. Go TROJANS! We may see about a half a dozen back yard draw in the dirt plays that are going to shake things up. Plus the D has their coordinator as the head guy. I think they are going to play like their hair is on fire. They are also going to know just about anything from the O side is possible for this game. I am on call so can not attend but wish I could because there is a great deal of hope for this game as opposed to NO hope after the game on Saturday nite.

I'm still anxiously waiting for a true dual threat qb that can kill a team with his legs also. When we get that and play at a blistering pace it is going to be magic

When we get that and play at a blistering pace it is going to be magic Kelvin Simmons single-handedly won most of the games he played for TMTDM. He was light years ahead of the curve and we didn't even know it.

I didn't realize who Hugh was at the time but I won't ever forget him.
Kelvin Simmons and Hugh were two grown men on the field that day.
Hugh was a first round pick - 16th overall. That was an incredible game that as I remember ended in a tie. Without Kelvin Simmons, we get rolled.

At the game. It was a gem. Central St OL was massive for a school that size

Without Kelvin (who took an absolute beating from Hugh Douglas and that Pro Team that Central St brought to HC in 1993) they would have beat us merciously. That last drive and his 2 point conversion was legendary and I was fortunate to have been at the game to witness it

At the game. It was a gem. Central St OL was massive for a school that size Billy Joe was the coach. He stacked that NAIA team with every Big 10 player that used up his eligibility, got arrested, got paroled etc. Best team we played in 1993 and that included Marshall

Was blessed to play alongside Kelvin and that was my senior HC game. Never been so happy to tie… those guys looked like the Redskins hoppin off that bus.

He beat McNeese 35-28 in front of 30,000 in Lake Charles. Amazing game. On a side note-only #1 ranked team to have to travel throughout the playoffs. 10 degree weather at Marshall was the only thing that slowed him down...even then. Man, I miss those Us Against the World Days.

Man, I miss those Us Against the World Days. Was watching the Marshall game on TV. Center snapped the ball to early while Kelvin had his head turned evidently calling a check and the ball bounced off his helmet and Marshall recovered. Lost by 3 points
