My understanding is that he had a 3 year contract with an option for the 4th year based on wins! I could be wrong. If it is a 3 year deal maybe there are other options ! Demote him The problem is that he brought on Luke Meadows as the O line coach and OC and we are substantially worse in both catagofoes Four year deal with an option to add a year after the first year. That option was not picked up. It’s just a four year deal now If he is here for year 4, I will believe that winning just doesn't matter to Jack and the BoT. That would be a slap in the face to every champion that ever gave blood, sweat, and tears for Troy.

Let us compare responses: "Thanks for the email, passion and insight. Last Saturday’s performance was extremely disappointing. We have high expectations for all our sports and that is broad based success and to compete for conference championships. As with all of our sports I am constantly evaluating the performance, recruiting, momentum and trajectory." - Brent Jones

I received the same exact response! I’ve talked with him several times and he’s very personable and passionate! I think we are receiving a form letter because there’s not much he can say and I hope he has been bombarded with emails to answer so he is having to do a form letter because individual letters would take too long!

Expecting him to craft a personal response to all the emails he's surely getting is a bit too high a bar and it comes as no surprise, and totally reasonable, that a generic reply is being given.

I was simply asking him to calculate Fester's wins minus losses. The answer is -3 in case anyone is wondering.

Pretty sure he isn't getting any glowing emails saying what a fantastic job Chipper is doing. 3 years in and he is 12-15. Sad part is in our last 10 seasons we have only three winning seasons (all under NB).

And that is to be expected. His secretary or admin assistant read you email and hit reply and paste, hit send. The AD hasn’t read one email all the peasants have sent. Say it again, the ONLY way to affect change: Unfortunately the only time Administration takes fans/supporters 100% serious is when they stop buying tickets, stop donating, stop participating. Something I don’t agree with doing (only in the extreme) because the players deserve to be supported

In most cases I would agree however after week 1 and the debacle with concessions and then a major adjustment for week 2 was a definite positive that was a result of AD BJ Sending out a survey and also from him walking the stadium and seeing first hand that changes needed to be made! AD BJ is in a bad position here and time will only tell how he handles the situation , especially when relaying the negatives to Dr Jack and proposing a change! I am optimistic because of my interactions with him! I know he wants the best for Troy

Tie that in with losing and zero charisma and it isn't good. I 110% agree with you on the players and my heart bleeds for them because they deserve the best we can give them

The debacle should have been avoided in the first place. It’s not rocket science and the answers are not unknown.

Hawkins has, does and will call the shots and hire who he wants. I don't even think it is a priority of his right now. He wants new buildings on campus as his legacy before he leaves and is going to kick the bond debt down the road to the next chancellor

It’s obvious in the recent months, that Brent Jones has slapped your hand at the dinner table , and you’ve decided to wage an all out attack on him. To each his own. I think he’s done a good job in his time here, but he will be ultimately judged by his next big hire. Everyone in the room knows it. Most everyone also knows the micro mananger at the top will carry a heavy hand in the decision making. Signed A non donor per Saintflorian

I agree that Brent has done a pretty good overall job considering Covid etc. He isn't Hartwell but we might not get another one of him. I wish the AD would be accessible like John was. I am basically a nobody in the grand scheme of Troy but I still met John and he even remembered me the next time I saw him at a game. I really like the baseball hire (he was recruiting my cousin at SC who is the #5 prospect in WI and is a freshman. Older brother signed with Arkansas "95 mph" fastball). I hope that Hawkins will back off this time around and let the AD and search committee do their jobs. I firmly believe we don't get Neal without Hartwell standing up to Hawkins. We have to get this right or we will be the FSU of the Sun Belt

First hand knowledge and because I am a small time donor Outreach, digital/social promotion and communication are lackluster at best. Started with whatshisname and Brent continued it. You are 100% correct to fear in another bad hire beIng made by Hawkins and AD Jones, plummeting this program to full dumpster on fire mode.

I think Brent Jones and Kyle George have done a great job with fan engagement. I think have certainly tried to do a good job. It's never perfect but it has been good.
