Hopefully COVID is just an excuse. Two losing teams who have both just fired their coach isn’t worth the effort.

Well, this officially guarantee us back to back losing seasons. Think positive. Last year we lost 7 games and this year only 6 so we improved.

Just my opinion They give him about 200k and let him resign or else they fire him w/ cause re: morals clause in contract. He sort of saves face and might get another Assistant gig somewhere.

I really hate this for our players - they have deserved better. Here's to the Men of Troy!

Really stinks. Was looking forward to some Thursday night football. What does this do to bowl chances? At least one ESPN guy had us going to Orlando to play in the Cure Bowl.

Per AL.com: The NCAA waived minimum requirements for bowl eligibility this season, meaning a team with a sub-.500 record could still play in the postseason. However, the Sun Belt went strictly by conference record to determine bowl assignments, with Coastal Carolina (8-0), Louisiana (7-1), Appalachian State (6-2), Georgia Southern (4-4) and Georgia State (4-4) taking the league’s five postseason slots.
Troy finished 5-7 in 2019, meaning they will post back-to-back losing records for the first time since 2014-15. The Trojans won 10 or more games every year from 2016-18, before former head coach Neal Brown left for West Virginia.

Straight from the email from athletic dept: “Due to Troy's Sun Belt Conference record and the new bowl selection process determined by the conference prior to the start of the season, Troy's season comes to a conclusion with the announcement of the game cancelation.”

Our only conference wins were TX St , Ark St, USA (Sun Belt West) and all three had below .500. Four of Five Sun Belt Bowl spots went to the East so that tells you the strength of the East

I think at this point no bowl is probably best. Put this season to bed and look forward to next year

Cincinnati would have to lose to tulsa for coastal to get in. There is a guaranteed access spot but there are at large spots. Coastal (as much as they kind of screwed up good will with whining etc) is a good story and that is what bowls like. If they are ranked 9th in CFP or even 10th they may well get one of the at large spots. Still not likely OF COURSE.
