There is ZERO intensity on the sideline, not from the players or the coaches. We may come out in the second half reenergized, but unless Sherrill Busby, who once blocked 4 kicks in one game, gives the half time speech, I donât see it happening. There appears to be zero leadership in our football program at this time. Weâre down only 7 and youâd think we were down 40 with 20 seconds to go. The guys are playing hard but the sideline is dead. Itâs disgusting. Your observation is not wrong. In a normal year this would be of great alarm. But I will say this from personal experience. In one of our companies, we had a couple people test positive with COVID, even after we social distanced, put in safety protocols and sent people to work from home. After testing everyone, all negative expect the two, it was an emotional roller coaster, everyone on edge and everyone out of sorts due to the uncertainty, coupled with it all over the news, etc. Iâm not surprised of the lack of emotion, wish it was not so but not surprising. But again, good leadership can and will overcome these type situations. As I have said before, (The HC we don’t speak of) should not have been in the final two of candidates but he was chosen, he is who we have until he is not. No doubt he is learning on the job, this is unfortunately our burden to suffer through. Will he put it together for next year? I hope so for the players and programs sake, because still believe Troy will retain him for next year. I will continue to support the program, all of it. But we got to win.

Outside of a few examples where the team really fought back from a deficit and never quit, it seems like in general, this staff doesn't handle adversity well. When things go south, (The HC we don’t speak of) doesn't seem to be able to turn things around. One deviation from the plan and every bit of energy is gone. I had a feeling that playing MTSU a second time, our staff would not have our guys ready to play, and the internal noise of "we beat them by 40 the first time" would be the dominant feeling in the locker room going into the game. Human nature is this staff's biggest opponent every game.

Watching Troy football is on the top five list of joys in my life. I hate when we lose. Hate it. But as I grow a little older, I find myself still smiling as I leave the Vet, regardless of the outcome. Changes will come and Troy will return to our place atop the Belt. Until then, I'll be in Section 116 smiling. And cheering (you know, the thing 95% of our stadium refuses to do and then runs home to complain that the players aren't doing).

Regarding cheering - energy in the stadium - start watching the below at about 7:21 until the score. The camera is literally shaking, the White Towels flying. That is what I hope to see in The Vet again one day. Outside of Mizzou possibly, best game ever (both teams played very well) at The Vet.

That is what I hope to see in The Vet again one day. Outside of Mizzou possibly, best game ever (both teams played very well) at The Vet. Right. But we can do that any time. It's our choice. It's "our house". If even half the stadium made noise, even if only when the defense is on the field (and our players are signaling for us to do so), offenses like EKU wouldn't stand a chance on 3rd and long. Instead, it's me and a handful of others making any noise at all during the first three quarters and a smattering joining in the fourth. Do you know how many times I've had other "fans" ask me to please sit down and be quiet? This community wants to talk about "we've quit"? You're right. In many instances, this fan base has been quitting for years. And yes, I understand you'll get more noise when the team is being successful. But that's also the definition of bandwagon fandom. We used to mock that school in Birmingham for that. CLB once said "If you're a Trojan be a Trojan." CNB once asked if "We fight is something we mean or just something we put on a tshirt." They weren't just talking to the players.

WOW! Is everyone busy looking for Black Friday deals on Wednesday OR last minute grocery shopping? A good post (over two hours ago) above and not even a like. I guess WE includes all of us!
It is an interesting post because last night I watched the sixty minute documentary on The 12th Man at Texas A & M and was wondering what would it take to get the fan base of Troy excited? I mean, they have yell practice! Like the above post mentioned, we cannot even get fans to cheer when it is requested. I do not have to go very far back to start giving examples ... LAST QUARTER played, SOTS playing, "Get Up All You Trojan Fans". Based on the response, I don't know what people were doing in The Vet!?!
I will ALWAYS "get up" for the young men who wear cardinal despite what I think of their coaches OR how mad I am at the current effort being exhibited on the field!!!
ONE DAY, hopefully in my lifetime, we will see consistently the fan behavior and turn out that was documented in the video highlights above.

I have actually watched that video about 50 -80 time since it came out. Replayed Sydney's catch and Jordan's run and the last play maybe 500 times. Love the camera shake. That was before the North end zone. I could only imagine what the noise level would be like now. I really do hope we can get back to that level of play and that level of being around each other. The crowd shots were fantastic and right now fondly recalled. Life will get back to normal soon. Next year not sure how Troy will be but college football will be back with a vengeance and for that I am happy as a clam.....

I can count on one hand the number of home games I've missed since '95 and I don't remember ANY of them being that loud. I know i've been there when there was excitement, but the video makes me realize just how loud The Vet CAN be. This game was played before the North end zone was closed in, if my memory is correct, so it would be even louder today. We can make The Vet a VERY difficult place for our opponents to play if we bring that energy. I say all that, now I'm gonna say this. When the on field product is sub par, when the team's energy isn't there, when it seems we regress rather than advance, it is very, very difficult, if not impossible, as a fan, to bring that kind of energy. I'd love to see it every game, I want to bring it every game, but I'll be the first to admit, I struggle to do so when it must be manufactured.

I keep seeing folks talk about being asked to sit down. The fact that a TROJAN fan would be asked to sit down and be quiet by another TROJAN "fan" is appalling. There are times that there aren't many people in my section standing and screaming, but I've never been asked, nor have I seen anyone else be asked to sit down. I can't imagine why anybody would go to a football game and expect people to sit down and be quiet. I know it happens, y'all have testified to it, but I can't imagine it, nor would I take kindly to being asked to sit and be quiet. AS Buzz and Mr E said, maybe one day soon we'll see that again.

Unfortunately, I’ve been asked to sit down before as well. It’s the main reason I cheer from visiting sideline upper deck because this happened in stadium club seats someone gave me. Then again it happened at the first New Orleans Bowl against Rice. To which I gladly told both people I’ll stand and cheer when TROY plays just as much as you stand and cheer when the other 2 in state schools play. No one will tell me to sit down and be quiet at a TROY game.
As far as the product we’re cheering for there’s a two fold agreement in the fight song...
We will always cheer for victory! (The Fans!) And you’ll never let us fall! (The Players! and Coaches!)
I’m still cheering for victory!
So get out there team and Fight Fight Fight! And “Win today!”

Just to be clear - was simply posting the video to show how much fun The Vet is when "cheering" happens. Had nothing to do with winning. I posted because I too cheer - standing up. I don't get why our fan base is so lethargic but it is and it sucks.

For what its worth (and I predict it is worth very little), I emailed the AD and suggested perhaps a section could be created for fans who want to stand and cheer and get loud. Name it something like 'The Screamin' Legion', etc. He replied back very quickly that they would discuss it at their post-season meeting and that he liked new ideas. The fact that he replied at all impressed me.
I would love a place in the Vet where we could really let loose and encourage the other fans to do the same. Make The Vet Loud Again.

Did you lose your voice when you graduated? I was on the field so it was kind of hard to cheer and listen to the play call in our no huddle wishbone lol We could always tell when you fraternity boys snuck boose in. They started chanting "Whup Jax St" and it was our second home game lol

Itâs disgusting. Well when your #2 QB fakes an illness so he can go Duck Hunting instead of playing the game with his teammates is a problem. Bigger problem is that he was never punished for his actions! NOT really a TKG but after hearing about the extra activities by (The HC we don’t speak of) is he a TGK and will the players ever respect him again. I was one that thought he should be given a few years to build this program but after watching every game this year he does nothing to build the younger guys nor give them the confidence to play for him. Let all that soak in!!

What is a TKG? I know what it stands for but what is it really? How does your HC preach to the players about being a High Quality guy then run around on his wife? How does a TKG decide to fake an illness so he can go hunting in lieu of traveling with his team to APP ST? Does a TKG HC then allow this player to step back into his position with NO penalties??? (The HC we don’t speak of) has lost the respect of this team and if not addressed will make us the Laughing stock of the conference!

He just had to plant a few new flowers in the well planned out landscaping each season. But the entire house was built, furnished, and move in ready.
