Abandoning the (The HC we don’t speak of) ship! Ignorance. Weâll agree to disagree... but, until (The HC we don’t speak of) proves otherwise he still has a losing record as a head coach.

Not specifically pointing fingers at any one player or person but as you recall our D backfield just sucked last season. Hopefully there are changes underway and this could be fallout??

Abandoning the (The HC we don’t speak of) ship! Any proof they left due to specifically CCL ? What if these guys just didnât want to put in the work to battle for the starting position? Itâs sounds like you would be ok with that. Yâall millennials need to buckle down and appreciate hard work. Not everything is just given to you.

You donât know me, so donât assume I donât know what hard work is... I played sports, had a 3.25 gpa and had to help tend to a 22 acre farm growing up. Peas donât pick or shell themselves. Went to summer work outs with purple fingers to prove it. But, Iâve heard from players themselves that have said there is no comparison between this coaching staff and the last.

Trevon Woolfolk has entered the transfer portal. He was second in rushing yards last season. Likely would have been 3rd or 4th on the depth chart this season with BJ coming back and Charles Strong becoming eligible. This one I actually do understand. Probably could have stuck around as a fullback that we have used exclusively as a blocker for several years. Unlikely most RB's would want to do that.

I actually understand this one with Smith, Strong and Billingsley. Might have stuck around as a blocker only fullback but most RB’s really want to carry it more then once in two years

I can't wait to watch Strong. I saw him in the spring game last year and he may be unlike anything ever seen the 'Belt.

QB Gavin Screws is in the portal now... What the heck is going on? It’s not that hard to figure out. When your 4th or 5th on the depth chart and believe you should be 1 or you finally realize that your not as good as everyone else, you look for a better opportunity. 3.25 GPA huh ?

QB Gavin Screws is in the portal now... What the heck is going on? I spoke with a couple of players about two weeks ago and they said he (Gavin Screws) would be entering the Portal due to Gunner would be the QB in 2020. He had fallen to number three or number four on the depth chart.

This portal was a terrible idea. .. The portal giveth and the Portal taketh away. In this case, Screws gets a chance to play QB for a smaller Div II type school. Maybe he'll blossom there? Certainly can't improve sitting on the bench at Troy. I do think ONE move is enough per athlete's NCAA career.

Or you work hard or switch to a different position, right boomer? Hard to give up on what you have always played. However, there are a bunch of guys who went on to the pros at a different position or in college and have great success. Often a QB has been one of the better overall athletes on the field till college and many can be switched to DB (particularly safety) they see the field much as a ………...quarterback sees it...………. If they are willing to do this it is that or wide receiver where they can really produce. The Heinz dude out of Georgia (Steelers) a long time ago one by the name of Cromwell out of Kansas with the Rams etc. Most guys are just not going to want to transition and the portal makes it much more possible to take their skills elsewhere than in the old days. In the old days (2 years and beyond) a guy may actually have it cross his mind that I could play that position better than most of the guys over there. They don't even have to go to the coaches generally. The coaches all ready have a wish list of guys at other positions on the team that are buried on a depth chart that they wish they could see at the position they coach. I really had hoped Screws would have been switched to D. Not sure if it would have worked but he had some physical tools.

I was wondering if/when he was going to transfer. He's got talent, but I don't think he had the stuff to beat out any of the other top 3 QB's. Gunnar Watson has already gotten playing time, Parker McNeil is a JUCO All-American, and Jacob Free was an SEC recruit... and then the freshman Kyle Toole was ranked as the #34 pro-style QB in the nation... I don't think there was going to be much opportunity for Screws.
