Troy plays in Huntsville on Monday the 25th. There will be several local Trojan fans in attendance so if you are in the area come on out and cheer loud. I want to see more Trojan fans in the gym than Alabama A & M fans. We will be collecting information for the start of a local alumni chapter as well.

I am more nervous about this game than I was before we got waxed by Samford. Interested to see Cross coach in person. Hoping he can change my opinion of him tonight. Go TROY!

That was not pretty! 14 point loss to an 0-5 swac team.

This raises my eyebrow, but not why you might think. It makes me think Cunningham did more damage than we thought. Cross has had 6 games to work on 6 seasons of backsliding.
It took Tony Franklin half a season before his offense kicked in. We have to give them some more time.

CSC is pissed, there's hope.
HEAD COACH SCOTT CROSS:
"Tonight, was disappointing and not very good in any facet except the free-throw line. Defensively we were rotating, and they were picking us apart. We need to do a better job staying in front of the ball. It was a point of emphasis yesterday in practice, and tonight, we didn't do a good enough job of executing that. I need to get this team tougher. We've been trying to make this team tougher since day one, but obviously I haven't done a good enough job. The bottom-line is A&M was a lot tougher and more physical than we were tonight. And they shot the ball well, and we didn't. Shooting the ball in the basket is the name of the game. We spend a lot of time in practice working on our shooting, so we need to do a better job of translating our execution in practice to the games, because 4-of-22 shooting from three isn't going to win you many games."

It appears this team is getting worse each game and that's puzzling. I'm hoping SC gets this worked out. At least he shows fire in his presser, had this been CL " disappointing, I didn't have them prepared, we will have to play better, oh well"

Shooting was horrible. Not just from the arc. We missed many lay ups as well. Hoping it was just a bad night and they get better.

At least he shows fire in his presser, had this been CL " disappointing, I didn't have them prepared, we will have to play better, oh well" I think it has become more of a mental issue with the team at this point. The buzzer-beater loss to UAB, the loss to Chattanooga that happened on the final 3 minutes of that game, the close loss to Texas A&M after we outplayed them for most of that game... Those are tough to swallow. This loss to AAMU could be a back-breaker mentally.

I'll never forget Malik Burnett's tweet where he said "today, I took the elevator instead of the stairs... I'm transferring" in reference to the "Take the Stairs" motto Scott Cross uses. That tweet said EVERYTHING about the type of players Cunningham was bringing in... and it showed when they all decided to leave once Cross was hired. They knew they were going to be held to a higher standard, and didn't like it. It essentially left Cross with a ridiculous amount of roster to fill out, with little time to recruit.

Probably the only team to play more Freshmen than TROY is playing this year is Kentucky and TROY isn’t recruiting the same caliber Freshmen as Kentucky. It’s going to be a year of growth, but better times are ahead...I think.

He didn't show that on the bench last night. Acted like he didn't care and you barely ever see a basketball coach sitting and I saw him sitting quite a few times. He was the first one you saw headed to the locker room. He definitely can we win the presser conferences but has yet to show anything else.

Yea Not a good look, getting solidly beat by a team from a lower division that will only win a few games this year. Yes, the inherited program was down but the team looked confused and unprepared. A long way to go, this team needs a few wins.

You've clearly sold yourself on not liking Cross as head coach before he's even had a chance. Did you like Cunningham more?
I believe he tried to keep a lot of those players. If you remember, KJ Simon had declared he was transferring. He was one of the most talented players Cunningham had remaining, and he likely could've transferred out to a bigger school himself. But Cross was able to keep him at Troy. I think we were also fortunate Xavier Williams didn't transfer. He has big league potential if he can gain a lot of muscle weight and learn to be a physical presence.
Our starting lineup against a veteran Texas A&M, whom we almost beat, was 4 juniors and 1 sophomore.
Our starting lineup against Alabama A&M was 2 sophomores, 2 juniors, and 1 senior.
The 5 players getting the most playing time are 2 sophomores, 2 juniors, and 1 senior.
He has only had most of these players on his roster for 4 months before the season started. Very young and inexperienced team. Gotta give it time. I actually like what Scott Cross said in his post-game comments. He was very displeased and was determined to fix it.

We've been there before... good riddance.

If the percentage was that from the line it sure didn't seem like it in person. It was just an overall bad embarrassing night.

Going to have to side with Chatvalley on this thread. I am a fan, but coaching is about W's and L's. Right now we are losing to teams we should not lose to, Samford (although Padgett is doing a very good job with that program) and A & m is a really bad loss IMO, may be different at seasons end.
I will end on positive, love CSC energy and passion. If that can translate from coach to player, we will be in good shape down the road.

I want basketball to be an instant winner too... but we need to be real about this. How many coaches were available that Troy could've hired that you think could've done much better, considering the circumstances?
I'll wait...

How many would have done worse? I will wait. True, but most of those would have no where near the upside potential as CSC. He didn’t forget how to coach when UTA let him go. Will we win the NCAA Tournament under him? Probably not, but we aren’t likely to win it under anybody else either.
