Don't take it so serious. Amen, it’s a game being played by 18-22 year old college students!

Don't take it so serious. Amen, it’s a game being played by 18-22 year old college students! I doubt anyone takes it so seriously that it effects their lives in any real way. Except the players and coaches. And this is a place to talk specifically about the football program, so... Bad with the good, and all that. And there's a lot of bad right now, so that's getting hammered on. But I think we beat Coastal and TX State.

Coastal beats us... Texas state is a toss up. We lose every other game...
Sad part about it... we’re stuck with this coaching staff.

Barkers postgame comments sounded like the seniors and veterans have all but dialed it in and given up said something like hope the younger guys can motivate the older guys - I think - may be wrong but the seniors should be motivating younger players coaching problem and clubhouse problem - very very bad combination

He said that he hopes the younger guys play FOR the older guys, meaning the younger guys give it their all. Because the older guys only have a certain number of games left, so it means more to them (that it does to the younger guys).

Here's something interesting that GSU coaches came up with to loosen up Troy's outstanding run defense.
Georgia State showed a 3-down OL formation with tackles spread out wide by the receivers. Troy's linebackers were confused about their responsibilities as you can see they were out of place when the ball snapped. Barnett was able to sneak by untouched for 10+yards.
Here, counting the dots, you can see Troy actually has numbers in the box - 5 to GSU’s 4. Problem is, the two furthest from the line (20 and 3) have no idea where they need to key on and are stuck in no man’s land
And finally, as the play runs, those two defenders are frozen and out of position, and the blockers on the inside help open a wide open hole for Tra Barnett to run through. I’ve circled it for effect but, uh, you probably see it. (4/)
RE: Game thread- Troy @ Ga State
Dan Ellington: "We knew they [Troy defense] didn't like up tempo so pushing the ball was favorable for us, and once we got into that crazy formation, they started going everywhere and didn't know what to do, they didn't know how to react."

Let’s take a look at the last couple of posts and couple that with having to play Travis #94 and Will # 5 to many plays they get a little worn down and then our known D back problems along with the previous posts. Now combine that with doubt and lack of confidence you get what we are getting. It is way to early to call for Chips head because this is not coordinating it is head coaching. Compile that with Kaleb having to feel like if I screw up at all we have no chance. Well guess what you get double the trouble. Yes everyone is disappointment and sadness. The entire future depends on our fan base, coaches and players attitudes from here on out this year. I liked what the Players showed. They did not quit and things were not going well. No great silver lining but they are just laying down. PS I wish I knew what happened to Zoe Bridges and I hope Dell is not to hurt.

Very disappointing game. As everyone has said this staff was nobody’s 1st, 2nd or 3rd pick, but they are struggling with some of the basics of coaching and our opponents are taking advantage of it. I hope they can make improvements so our Trojans can win.
As buzz said, this team has not quit and our young warriors are still fighting, we need to support them.
We were absolutely blown off the ball at the line of scrimmage. Our defense has been gutted and the talent gap is real and noticeable. The cupboard was not left full. But they are trying. And the coaches need to put them in better position.
Watching the game with 20 alumni and supporters last night, everyone to person stated that the team has not quit. This needs to be emphasized.

The players will never quit. They have the Trojan Warrior Spirit as we all do! We are frustrated and expect better but we will always fight on. That said however, the game of football is played as much off the field as on the field and we didn't get it done off the field this season.

Just for the record the defense is struggling and needs lots of improvement. I’m not sure why the offense is getting a total pass here. The score was 35-14 at the end of e 3rd quarter. Troy scored more points in the 4th quarter, what was basically keep it all on front of you and make them eat clock time, than they did the entire game. Zero points in the 1st or 3rd quarter. This is an overall team that’s struggling in all phases. Hopefully they find the right things to get the season turned around.
