Lot of football left - win out and great season. Not likely but it could happen. Let's worry about South. See you there Wednesday. Coach (The HC we don’t speak of) gets paid either way so you all may as well show up.

I hope taking three big jumps backward with the football program was worth it to the admins.

On the pay for Head Coach - why should he make a lot of money before he ever coaches a game. If he wins, they renegotiate his contract. The way I hear and see it from this board is he makes too much money.
I understand you all are saying pay more up front - but who did you want to pay more that was PROVEN?

One way I can tell that (The HC we don’t speak of) hasnât connected with the students and the fan base in general is the lack of #SouthHateWeek tweets, etc. Just an observation. All I will say is look at Scott Cross' Twitter feed and you will see the fire for TROY we want from (The HC we don’t speak of). If Coach Cross is successful, I give him two years and he will be gone.

That's going to be any good coach at this level, though, unless you find a rare individual who just likes the small town feel and is content with 1/2 a mil a year rather than the millions possible in power 5. I'm okay with a string of good, enthusiastic coaches.

If a person is chosen to coach at TROY, they should bring this level of excitement. It's what I would like to see from all coaches in every sport. No matter how long their tenure. Success breeds success breeds success. One bad hire can cripple a program and normally does so quickly.

Nope. Just win. The coach can be as boring as watching paint dry as long as he wins. You can name a bunch of “boring” coaches in a variety of sports that were boring but did it right and won.

Coach can dress in a clown suit and have a backyard circus for Bulgarian immigrants on his day off, nobody would care if he won.

It’s the cut in staff pay that hurts. According to published reports the salary pool for the staff is $2 million per year.

Not believing these news reports on it. Thinking this is a line from AD whatâs his name trying to paint the narrative. Heard from several persons the $2 million is way high. And itâs damn sure that (The HC we don’t speak of) is only making $600k. Yea, they went cheap.

A quick google search will show you assistant salaries in the $1.9 million range for certain.

If the only source for $1.9 million is what AD whatshisname told the Montgomery Advertiser I feel good that what I have been told that is a lot lower is accurate. In the end it doesnât matter, this staff needs to win regardless of what they agreed to be paid.

Couldn’t agree more. Win and nothing else matters.
