Antoine Barker is the next Trojan to leave:
Former Troy linebacker Tron Folsom with a classy response:

I'd actually heard in the spring that we might be bringing in another Juco DT this summer? Anyway ... Barker is obviously a good player ... don't know his motivation for wanting to go, but wish him the best. Not sure if he graduated ... but he redshirted for us ... so he'd have to have a waiver or go to FCS to play???

Also, looking at the roster ... we have some promising young talent on the D-line: Choloh, Pierce, Samuel, Barkley, Reaves, Mathis. All Fr/Soph.

Nice link! As much as we collectively hate the portal, take a second to think about this once you look at the list ... how many schools can boast as high of percentage as Troy of their players who have entered the portal who were picked up by other schools? The glass is half FULL. FYI - that percentage is even higher because Zach Branner and his family served us well, graduated and is in graduate school at ACU where he will use his final year of eligibility by wearing purple (but I guarantee you, he bleeds Cardinal).

For comparison's sake, take a look at WVU on that same website, Neal and Staff have a revolving door there, over 20 out and in. My guess about Portal players there is "What? We gotta work and be disciplined?? I'm outta here!" Yes, we'll pick up a few portal players as well.. that door swings both ways.

Character issue imo Taking less than a full load each semester and suddenly realizing that you needed calculus to graduate??

Is this speculation of what happened to Mr Barker, or confession of what happened to Mr Cornhole? 😳🤔😂

I am on vacation and had a margarita or two so pay little attention. However, hate to see this. He was a good player and he will be missed some. The portal giveth and taketh away. In Troy’s case taketh more. The NCAA. Changing their policy will calm some of this. Just don’t like this !! But so like margaritas.....so for today it’s a one one tie

Looks like it’s going to be a rebuilding year for us mostly. I was hoping for another 10 win season but now I think 7-5 might be more realistic. I just don’t think our D will be able to compensate 4 very experienced DEF players so easily.

NB recruited a QB that transferred out after he didn't get the nod to start...he was a Heisman candidate. That was his 1st commitment here. Let's not discount the recruits that remain. Let them off the chain and watch them do what they came to do: Win.

This is not the first time he has had academic problems.he was ineligible in the fall of 2016. He regained his eligibility in time for the Dollar General Bowl against Ohio University. Played very well that night. I'm saddened but not surprised. He's a very talented player at both DT and DE.

I believe he is at Charlotte. Now that is a step right up there with the Big Boys in C-USA. From what I've read, oh, never mind.
