I never smelled a cup... Sorry. But you can cop a smell. Ask Joe Biden

I never smelled a cup... Sorry. There’s a lot of cup sniffers on here. It’s a strange fetish to say the least.

Defense was indeed dominant in the first half. I think we are going to be fine at LB, those guys played well and swarmed to the ball. The secondary wasn't challenged much deep, so it's hard to say how they are doing. From an offensive standpoint, the play calling was very limited in nature but one thing that was obvious was the pace. After each first down, the team rushed to the line and the ball was snapped as soon as the official stepped from over it. Multiple times the ball was snapped before the defense, especially the guys on the edge, was set. Caleb wasn't dressed and didn't play. The offense struggled in the first half but seemed to find a rhythm in the second. Sawyer looked good and I was very impressed with Gunnar Watson. He is mobile and he has a cannon for an arm. When he throws a 15 yd crossing route, it's with authority and he has the ability to thread a needle with it. Gaven Screws also looked good. He led a scoring drive late in the first half that was capped off with a 30+ yd run by Charles Strong. I can tell you guys, you're going to like him. At 6'1" and 215, he looks unlike anything I've seen in a Sunbelt backfield. Elusive, fast, and big, he can be a major contributor. There was no live special teams play. The punters took a snap and punted to one receiver and those were the only 3 guys on the field. Place kicks were made using a snapper, holder, and, kicker. Sumpter boomed a couple of deep punts and Legassey hit a good one. He appears to have a really strong leg and I can see him replacing the departed Bratcher Underwood as KO specialist. In his only attempt at a PAT however, he, on cue, clanked it off the upright....unchallenged. Bottom line, there are some kinks to work out. The offense will have a little different look and I think will be a little more fast paced. That doesn't mean 120 plays a game, but I saw nothing that would indicate we would be standing at the line for 42 of 45 between play seconds before running a play. Defense is ahead of the offense, as would be expected in a spring game, we know special team kicking is in good hands, and we didn't see any return attempts. I think we can all take a deep breath, we're going to be OK. I saw pretty much the same thing, Bubba. My only concern was O-Line, but it’s hard to tell against one’s own offense. It was nice to see the offensive pace AND see the 2nd half offense improvement.

The OL didn’t have any depth beyond a very good first five heading into the Spring, so it was good to get some other guys in with the first team.
