Thank goodness Georgia State had their worst free-throw percentage outing of the entire season. They shot 41.7% from the FT line today.

That key FT miss by the Panthers #15 Simmonds with about :12 left and up by 1, then Javan's rebound set up the grand finale by JV! Don't like to point fingers but Simmonds was taunting Troy Fans just before his final foul shot. I suppose he lost his concentration??

Norman came up huge with 3 FTs after being fouled on a 3pt attempt. Great ballgame!

The guys never gave up and played as physical a game as I've ever seen them play. When we called for blocking with about :18 to go, I told my wife the game was over. I told her all GA State had to do was make the 2 Its and we would have to make a desperation 3 to tie. With their best shooter on the line, I assumed draining 2 was a done deal. Fortunately, I wasn't on the floor because he missed the front end of the 1 in 1, we got the rebound and JV was able to hit the long 3. I wish they played this way consistently.

Charles (Jr) , Malik (So), Darian (So), Javan (so) and now KJ (Fr) seem to have a bright future at Troy. KJ brings passion and excitment, this Orlando area young man may be special!

That was the best I've seen Troy play this year. GA State is a very good team and this afternoon they were beat by a better team. If Troy can sustain that level of energy they'll go undefeated the rest of the season.

Surprisingly, Troy men's season to date FT% is .730 vs all opponents .674. Troy men's FG % is .468 vs all others .441.

So we've beaten WKU, UAB, Georgia State, and probably should've beaten Pitt and St. Louis...
I'd like to know why the heck we're getting smashed by the Little Rocks and the Coastal Carolinas of the world...

So we've beaten WKU, UAB, Georgia State, and probably should've beaten Pitt and St. Louis... I'd like to know why the heck we're getting smashed by the Little Rocks and the Coastal Carolinas of the world... I'll take a stab at that one. Troy has shown they can play with really good teams (all the teams you mentioned above) PLUS they hung with Florida State in Tallahassee for about 2/3's of that game. Here's the deal: You have to bring it every time you lace up those sneakers or you are going to get beat. Little Rock and Coastal have enough talent and solid coaching (especially Coastal with Coach Cliff Ellis) that if you aren't mentally ready to play, you are going to lose. If this team can stay mentally prepared each game the sky is truly the limit. And I agree that the future is very bright with Davion Thomas, Zay Wiliams, Malik Burnett, K.J. Simon, Javan Johnson, and Darian Adams. Go TROJANS!
