This guy is not a fan of staying in one place. Heck, Kerwin Bell has a more impressive resume as a HC than this guy

Troy is a top G5 program now. IMO our new HC should have at least some FBS coaching experience.

I agree with this...Troy is a stable, top G5 program and if we want to keep this going we need someone who knows the land and has some experience in coaching at the FBS level. I am not saying some of these are not good, just not proven enough to lead TROY and to keep them where they are at now. Sumrall would be good but so would Moore if he was offered. Whoever it is needs to know the ends and outs of TROY, the program, and the fans.

curious why Sumrall is a better coach ? Based on what ? Donât know much about Hall or Roberts Sumrall was here, knows the culture we started and could retain some assistants we have left. Great recruiter and served under VK. We don't need a rebuilder we need a guy who can build upon what we have going. Hall would be choice #2 and really am not impressed with Roberts or (The HC we don’t speak of). Roberts record as a HC is all over the place and was on a steady decline at SELU. This is spot on! You donât want to start new and change everything. You keep this train on the tracks and take it to the next level!

Justin McNelley of WSFA is reporting on Twitter that sources have confirmed that Sumrall and (The HC we don’t speak of) have interviewed.

Just donât think Sumrall has the experience to manage the entire program. Never been with a P5 team (except this year). Not enough experience making crucial decisions. At this stage donât need to have a coach learn the inevitable mistakes when this program is flying high as it is. Sumrall as DC would be good. It will work out like it works out.

Neal already had a lot of experience when he joined us. HC at a G5 program was the next logical step: - Troy OC - Texas Tech OC - Kentucky OC That's a lot of experience, actually.

Very interesting. Two former UNA players in the mix. Hall was our QB in 2003. Won the Harlon Hill Trophy and then jumped into coaching landing with Bobby Wallace in his return to AL to coach in Livingston. Will Hall was his OC there and assumed the job with Coach Wallace retired (first time). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Will_Hall_(American_football)(The HC we don’t speak of) played for Wallace in the early 90s at UNA. Didn't realize he'd been QB coach for the Trojans before. Ron Roberts was great at Delta State but had mediocre teams at SELA except for a couple of seasons. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ron_Roberts_(American_football)

Cant wait to hear your crying some more. Funny. Love, don’t hate. Yea, hearing Sumrall is looking good. Hope it works out. Will be cheering my Trojans on next year regardless who the coach is.
