I'm more worried about VK leaving. That will be a HUGE loss to overcome Then you call Jon Sumrall. Great coach and no offense intended but he's not VK. Coaching under him will help but you dont replace the years of experience and his track record. What really impresses me about VK other than his overall results is how he makes game adjustments, especially second half

. There are a lot of posts this week from a lot of different folks that have stated that our schedule is very favorable and we have a good chance of going undefeated next year. Huh ? Mizzou is an SEC school with SEC level talent in their roster, don’t expect a Nebraska type scenario. S. Miss is at worst equal to Troy, equals dogfight game. Going to Akron will not be a cakewalk. APP will be good, GSU will be ready to brawl, Arky St. will be in the hunt. And you can bet the farm the South pukes will be itchin to fight. Remember we had a stretch of 6 to 8 Quarters where we couldn’t sniff a touchdown. Sure we can go undefeated but let’s cool the jets on it being an easy ( or easier) path next year. Still Mizzou will have to replace their top QB and some other players + some DEF starters and Troy returning a ton. Also, don’t underestimate the LSU and Nebraska wins: This Troy team understands how to beat P5 teams! I am more concerned about Missouri’s bye week (right before they are playing us) than their talent level. Southern Miss will be competitive, returning almost the entire OFF and they will have played two opponents (incl Miss St) while we only play Campbell in week1 - going into week 3. This could really hurt us. Akron will have to replace almost its entire starting DEF. We should win this game. App St should be a Top 25 team next year, not sure about their coaching situation. Barring any injuries and provided we add some more depth and keep our coaches, next year should be our year! Again our schedule is not cake walk next year. And Mizzou just got a lot tougher.

I don't think it will be a cakewalk but still more favorable than our past schedules... I am not so much concerned about the opponents but the bye-weeks vs USM and Mizzou. If we stay healthy, add some more targets (transfers) for our QBs and keep our coaches, we will upset Missouri. I called the upset over Nebraska, predicted the Liberty loss and got the App St score (pretty much) right... Let's re-evaluate the team and our opponents after spring practice, its too early now.

It's absolutely hilarious how often Propst's name STILL gets brought in damn near any decently high profile job opening comes up in this state lol I'm just so shocked that no high profile schools are beating down a 60-year olds door to come be an OC somewhere... Says the bammer beat writer from the weekly fish wrap... Priceless considering I cover Troy...

Isn’t everyone entitled to compassion, redemption and forgiveness? I'm not saying anything one way or the other. I'm just surprised, that's all.

If you remember, his first big speech in public was at a Liberty convocation. I think they've had a special place in their heart for ole Hugh. Georgia Tech just hired their coach... out of nowhere.

Yep. He is a good coach, if you can make Temple tough, a winner and competitive, you are real. I believe someone already mentioned this, but I am amazed about how we (me included) thought CNB was such a high level, hot coaching prospect for a bigger job. It goes to show you why some coaches jump at Power 5 jobs when the opportunity presents itself, they never know whether or not there will be another opportunity in the future. Also shows Power 5 programs have a lot of options to choose from.

Isn’t everyone entitled to compassion, redemption and forgiveness? Ask Ian McCaw. A perfect hire for the Liberty AD.

Some speculation NB in running for K-State head job. Littrell thing fell thru due to the restrictions on assistance. Vic coached a year there and is a graduate. He could bring some defense to that league and Neal could work the Texas recruiting area. So hopefully not but as I said before if it happens I much appreciate the last 4 years and look forward to the years ahead as a Trojan supporter in athletics as opposed to be an athletic sup. You guys get it.
