-2. Won't make that one unfortunately. Not sure the turnout Troy will have with fans having to fly to the bowl game.

The only bowls I'd be able to make would be Montgomery, Mobile and maybe just maybe New Orleans.

Montgomery Bowl is not likely to pass on Troy.

Tell you what fella's, they get an invite to come out here in December (nothing better than being in the desert in December)...I'll host the tailgate...(Hemi, I'll need the recipes!).

I could be wrong but I don't see any more than 3,000-5,000 fans making that trip. Probably over a $1,000 air fare for two with short notice plus hotel, tickets, food, rental car/cab etc. I'd say it would cost $1,500 for two people best case scenario. I've flown to Albequerque from Orlando once...close to a four hour flight so I figure 5 hour flight to AZ if you can get a through flight.

No to bowl in Montgomery. It’s not a reward for the players. Playing in that dump 50 minutes away with non fun things for the players (and fans) to enjoy is hopefully the last option.
Need to go to Orlando, Mobile (stadium is a dump but everything else outshines Montgomery), New Orleans and Arizona ( a long way but way better than Montgomery)

Disney, Universal, Sea World, possibly take in a NBA game even hop on I-4 for an hour and hit Busch Gardens. Drive able for most Troy fans and plenty of reasonably priced hotels. My guess will be if we win out they go to Mobile or New Orleans.

Assuming we get a choice...financially the best place to go is Mobile....

Assuming we get a choice...financially the best place to go is Mobile.... Montgomery don't pay! That's got to be the lowest payout of any bowl.

We play Georgia Southern at 12:00pm CST this Saturday. Also, the beer will be cold wherever the bowl game is played.

Being selfish in some regards but I'm hoping for the Cure Bowl. Little over an hour from me and the players would have a blast. Realistically we choose in order 1) Mobile 2) New Orleans 3) Montgomery 4) Orlando 5) AZ
Montgomery doesn't pay much but the expenses to the school is far less than going to AZ

Golf, Mountain biking, Sand Rails (The redneck equivalent of Monster Trucks but on sand), Indian Reservation Casinos..... And Trojans playing football out West....

The Camelia would be a great venue for our players as well.Being able to enjoy the week and know that alot of your family will be able to attend will carry weight. Also, any let down in DESTINATION can easily be neutralized with bringing the heat on gear.
Don’t forget playing in a packed stadium in Montgomery VS a 1/3 filled stadium in AZ will mean more also.

Don’t forget playing in a packed stadium in Montgomery VS a 1/3 filled stadium in AZ will mean more also. On top of that, the people in place at Troy can make Montgomery a lot of fun for Troy fans. Just look at New Orleans last year as an example. In previous years in NOLA we walked around in some weird parade thing. Last year we had Trojan Talk at Manning’s along with players graduation. There was great mixture of fans, former players, players and coaches families. Brent, Kyle, Steve and everyone one else involved will make the next bowl destination a great experience. Look at how much better the road game tailgates have been this year as they have worked along with the Alummi staff.

The mayor doesn't want Troy playing in the Cramton Bowl. We won't spend enough money in hotels etc

The mayor doesn't want Troy playing in the Cramton Bowl. We won't spend enough money in hotels etc The mayor might have said that but that is completely inaccurate. Only fans that wouldn't get hotels would be those that live in Montgomery or Troy area. Which lives The panhandle, Southern, Western, North Alabama and those from Georgia as well.
