South Alabama has a new slogan for their fund raising campaign - "One team. One Cause. One South Circle." Sounds a lot like "One Family. One Spirit One TROY" that was started more than two years ago. They got Troy guys, why not our marketing as well?

They can have it. I know what it's supposed to be about but I've never cared at all about the whole "one Troy" motto.
Wait. Let me tell you how I really feel. I flat out dislike it.
So give it to them, I say.

One TROY! is fantastic in my opinion. I love reading the stories of current athletes. And it's a great marketing strategy again in my opinion.

I just don't care for it at all. I've seen it used in places and at times like a rally cry and as far as that goes it just doesn't do anything for me. I get that it's to better market the 864 Troy campuses that spread across the solar system like Dollar Generals. As an institutional vision and value, I think it's fine but even then I think the phraseology could be better. But that's just me and I can't fully and more accurately explain why I don't like it. I just don't.

Walking around, you see allot of fans that root for the bigger schools but when you meet a Troy fan you know that you are both part of that special something and you just didn't buy the shirt.

It works ok for the University in General. Sux for athletics. i don't believe I've heard one fan stand and yell "One Troy' at an event.

It started when Coach Brown came to town. The creation of a successful brand takes time and you cannot change slogans, logos every year. Baseball is #theTROYway, Football is #wefight and #rtw, Basketball is #TroyTough. We are all #OneTROY. I don't think it was ever meant to be a war cry. It's on the Trojan Warrior yard signs, shirts, Facebook photo frames. Like it or not,it's recognizable now.
Speaking of a wat cry - can we all just yell Go Troy Go on kick-offs? My sisters and I have started it - maybe others will eventually join in.

That's what has gotten muddled, I believe. Havoc! is the best to me. It's unique and good for our particular trojan brand. I just wish we could instill it more at a kick off or something.
I think I stated when the whole One Troy thing first came out that if someone yelled ONE TROY! in my direction, I'd have no choice but to look at them confused like and yell "uh,,,,,two? Troy?"
Again, a great vision for our multi-campus international university. Down with it as some sort of athletic motto! Yuck. Even as I say it to myself, it gets more stupid.

Okay, if we don’t like “One TROY” how about “Yo guys best the ooop out of that other team with merciless aggression!!” Not as catchy or short as Havoc but very unique.

Love "HAVOC!!!" as a chant/war cry. I heard Trevon Sanders on a video during kickoff yell "Aaaaahhhhh! Ooooooooo!" Kind of like on 300 when leonidas asked the Spartans what is your profession and they responded Aaaaah Ooooo! Aaaaah Ooooo! Havoc followed by Aaaa Oooo! would be cool to hear a crowd yell. At least it would be to me.

How dare we have something original as "Havoc!"? We're best off just doing what everyone else is doing. (SW)

We are Trojans one and all. that's how they came up with it and tied it in. Trojans, one and all ≠ One Troy. I understand your point and the idea may be the same but obviously they are nothing alike verbally. So no, the general fan population doesn't yell "One Troy" at games (thankfully). I think at the kick-offs, some sort of spartan-like howl/yell (like the GOOOO of Go Dawgs @uga) ending in HAVOC! when the foot meets the ball would be energizing. Or the AHOO! AHOO! AHOO! would be cool too. P.S....I know there is a difference between Troy And Sparta, but you get my meaning.
