Has anyone been to the practices lately. How's the quarterback situation working out.

I'm thinking CNB wants to keep Boise guessing. We possibly won't know who the starter is until game day.

Watched for about 30 minutes yesterday. Both QB's looked good. Both can run which will help us tremendously. Nothing to say than they both looked good. Running Backs - that's to me the biggest question. I think our both QB's can do the job. But did not get much from the RB position because I did not see us run very much but was only there 30 minutes.
What I can tell you is the receiver position is WOW! Think it was a freshman that got behind the D for long TD pass. He is big and physical. I thought it was Eaford (spelling??) at first but was told it was a freshman. I may be wrong but regardless, WR position is deeeeeeeep.
D looked good.
If there is anything we must improve from what I saw was snap to QB. Many snaps were very low causing timing issues.
Music during scrimmage was B+

Saw an article today that RB's shined and responded so my post above is a bit off as it relates to the running backs which is good news

At least 6'2" ... over 200lbs ... and can move!

Doc71 I think you are right! He got behind the db by a least a couple of steps and an very nice throw by the QB. It was on time and just right for the receiver to go get it/run under

Offense is the only area I have no clue about this year... well FG/XP as well.

Offense is the only area I have no clue about this year... well FG/XP as well. We have an idea about FG/XP. Sumpter is money from <= 40 yds. Beyond that, we don't know because we haven't seen him attempt anything longer (he kicked 'em longer at Spain Park). Unless something has changed with Legassey since the spring game, he isn't the solution. He was as unreliable in the spring as he was last fall before losing the job. I suspect we'll see Sumpter do double duty as PK/Punter or we'll see Legassey as PK UNTIL he misses one. He'll be on a short leash.

They both looked pretty good in the scrimmage. Barker, to me, just looks to be the better all around QB. He made a couple of runs that were pretty spectacular where he juked out multiple defenders. Smith is athletic but seems like he is a little bit more hesitant to scramble when the need arises. Either way, they have some incredible talent to get the ball to. Brown did say he fully intends to name a starter before the opener, though, and he doesn't see the benefit in trying to keep it secret. Boise has tape on both QBs and they are similar in style.

May money is on Barker. If he will step and lead he will be money in the bank for CNB and the Trojans.

We'll probably know this week if someone can get to practice and see who's taking more snaps. They should be prepping for Boise by now.

Starting Thursday is what coach said previously Boise started prepping for us last week Noticed that as well. Coach Vic mentioned he wasn't pleased with the defense's fundamentals, and Coach NB stated on a couple days that he wasn't impressed with the team's energy / hunger. It's possible CNB is trying to shore those things up. This season was always going to be a rebuilding year in terms of leadership, and team identity. Hopefully we are ready. It's also good to note, that our program begins prep for 3 or 4 of the "types" of teams we will play during the offseason, so its not as though everything they see will be completely new.

Any news on the starting quarterback yet. Who going to replace Chunn at running back (if he can be replaced)?

Barker is what I am hearing - on radio in Montgomery yesterday, CNB said both would play also B J Smith and Jamarius Henderson has had a great camp and that Troy needed Henderson to have a great fall camp
