In March 2013 it was announced that TROY and Boise would have a home and home. We were all excited and looked forward to that day. Boise had become an established G5 program and we were in hitting a ....uh...funk. There was talk of a North endzone project but at least when announced I think we were all excited and knew to compete we would have to turn things around a bit. Well folks the home game for us is now just about 44 days away. The endzone project is nearing completion and even if just one Newspaper we were projected in the Pre-season as the 39th team out of 129/130 if you count Liberty. This is an exciting time and hope that I enjoy it and savor it to the max. I remember the Mississippi State game and this environment should equal to exceed that game. The time has actually finally arrived to enjoy the fortune of having a great coach at least one additional year after winning 11 last year. A victory over Boise would be a great feather in the cap of not only coach Brown but for the whole TROY community. YES! A mere 5 and half years latter we are almost at a truly special moment. I hope that there is not an empty seat in the house and that the noise now generated by the huge crowd with the new facility makes even the accomplished Boise Broncos a little nervous.

I agree whole heartedly. I have one request of the Football Game Day Operations staff. We will have a packed house and the bricked north end will be complete. The Vet should be louder than ever in it's existence. Please allow the noise to occur naturally. I'm not saying play no music, I'm not saying have the PA volume set to elevator music level, I'm not saying don't let the PA announcer spur the crowd on, but for Pete's sake, don't have the volume so high that the PA keeps us from carrying on a conversation with the person sitting beside us. If the crowd noise is that loud, GREAT, I'll be the first fan to praise that, but I don't want to go home with ears bleeding from artificial noise. Let's not turn the Vet into Dodger Stadium-South (baseball fans will understand that reference).

I think there was a thread about this a while back. I'm pumped! I just increased my season tickets by 2 seats to allow some folks on the bandwagon.

Let's not turn the Vet into Dodger Stadium-South (baseball fans will understand that reference). I absolutely understand this reference, and having season tickets at Chevez Ravine for many years, I dread going to a Friday or Saturday night game....the noise is deafening....completely takes away from the game and socializing with friends.

Hmm. If things really go well, Sodexo will have the concession stand wrinkles worked out in time. Not holding my breath tho'.
It's not as though they haven't had time to prepare.

We'll have to fill up at tailgates before the game to make sure we don't starve. lol

According to last year's weather data:
September 1, 2017
Troy, AL - high temp of 88°, with dew point of 72° (72 is considered "oprressive" on the dew point scale).
Boise, ID - high temp of 80°, with a dew point of 49° (49 is considered "pleasant" on the dew point scale).
I'd say the humidity could play a major factor in this game. The last time Boise played in the Deep South for a September game was in 2016 against Louisiana-Lafayette in Lafayette, where Boise beat an average Cajuns team 45-10. The temperature got up to 93° and the dew point was 73°... the difference is Lafayette had a steady sea breeze blowing in around 8-10mph most of the game, which is typical for Lafayette. It's not likely there will be a steady breeze blowing in Troy in September... it's usually stale and uncomfortable.

I will keep this short as I just posted on this subject on another thread alittle while ago. This is my biggest concern also. In 2016 for Louisiana-Lafayette, BSU practiced indoors and cranked up the heat to try and imitate the humidity, but it can't created. As I said in the earlier thread, they moved kick-off to 11am to offset the humidity. Anyway can't wait for game day. See you there. Go Broncos

I drank 6 bottles of water at a game last year and never went to the bathroom - Humidity is awful this time of year Troy is a about 7 steps above hell in July, August & September add gnats to go with it and it's almost unbearable But, I hope heaven is just like it cause it's the one of my favorite places! Go Troy!

It was hot in Boise last year, but nothing like Alabama in early September.

That steady breeze was BSU moving rapidly downfield and scoring.

The over 5 year wait is almost here. Anticipation building just thinking about 17 days from now. As a small hors d'oeuvre we have the 25th of August with the mighty Rainbow Warriors facing the perineal MWC pseudo contenders the Colorado State Rams on CBS or something like that. Then later we have our old buddies from New Mexico State playing the Cow loving Wyoming team on ESPN 2. I think even most of us who sit around a pine for football might just flip one or the other on for a bit just to try to quench our thirst for some NCAA football.
Norm is getting excited and almost ready to reveal his weather prognostication. I know the masses are almost as excited about that as the pending football game and games.
GO TROY!!!

I was there at that game and there was zero breeze before, during and after the game. You know it's damn hot when even the Lafayette fans were saying "It's HOT"! Look forward to meeting some of you and share a beverage (or two) and watching a good game. Go Broncos!
