For exhibit A that the inmates are running the asylum, see this upcoming season's basketball schedule. There will be no men's/women's conference double headers. All Conference games will now "mirror" each other. If South's men play on a Saturday in Troy, then their women will host Troy's women on the same weekend and it will be like that for the entirety of the conference schedule. The days of coming to campus (any campus) and supporting both men and women's programs are over. Those of us who live out of town and only get to make 2-3 games a season will now have to choose whether to support the men's program or the women's, we can't do both on the same weekend. This makes NO sense. Based on what i've seen as it relates to fans at the games i've been to, I'm afraid the attendance at the women's games is about to plummet.

I think the women's/men's doubleheaders helped attendance across the board in the Sun Belt.

It will certainly hurt the attendance for the women’s games and they deserve a packed house.

It's gonna be interesting for sure. I personally like it as it eliminates us having to work the DH's which make for a long night.

I presume that we will still have several NON-Conference Double Headers??? Very rarely did we have non-conference double headers. Think the only one we had was for the exhibition game.

It will certainly hurt the attendance for the women’s games and they deserve a packed house. I don't know if it could be worse. Looking at several box scores they usually drew in the 500-600 fan range with is baffling. In a 5,600 seat Arena that looks like nobody is there. You are right, they deserve a bigger crowd than the men draw.

One positive I cam up with, for DH's women always tipped at 5:15, that's impossible to make if you're not right here in Troy. I would assume the new tip-off time would be 6:30-7:00 ish and would allow for more out of town people.

As a Dothan resident, this means I could be home before 9PM. This made for a wonderful mid winter Saturday. These are the games I'm going to miss.

It has been said that WKU will play Troy this year. This will be the first time we have played a Sun Belt opponent since we left the conference if true. Have you all heard the same?

Why would we play WKU this year?
Unless it’s a bowl game our schedule is already full

I just entered the January/February/March Men's and Lady's schedules into my calendar/planner for next year. GAWD, if there were ever a case to leave the Sunbelt it's this cluster of a scheduling plan they came up with. Sure do miss the efficiency of Men's/Ladies double headers. Karl Benson's legacy or proof of lunacy?
