Can't believe there isn't a little more talk about baseball this week.
We end the season with four big time home games against Auburn and South. This team has turned in a really nice year, and is poised for a trip to the regionals if we can win 3/4 this week or have a good showing in the tournament.
Support the guys this weekend, get to the ballpark and enjoy some baseball.

Curious what the attendance will be tonight with school out.

Student turnout for baseball doesn't look to be significant for most games anyway... at least that's my observation.
I'm a little worried about the rain. Would hate to see a cancellation of an important RPI game and a potential sellout. The Tiggers would probably be more than happy to cancel their game at Riddle-Pace Field since they have a losing record there.

After the victory Troy moves up to #40 in RPI (was #44 before the game). Auburn was at #12 and stayed at #12 after the loss. Great win! South comes in at #56 in RPI. If we take 2 of 3 and win a couple in the tourney an at-large bid should be a given. I say, lets win out and not leave it up to someone to decide if we get in or not! www.ncaa.com/rankings/baseball/d1/rpi

If Troy takes 2 of 3 from South we should definitely get a bid unless we lose the first two games in the tourney

Troy projected as a No. 3 seed in the Athens regional currently, as one of the last four teams in.
Take the series from South, and you should be safe for a regional. I would rather leave no doubt and just win the conference tournament.

I would rather leave no doubt and just win the conference tournament. I wouldn't be so sure. If we take 2 of 3 from USA but then happen to lose in the first round of the SBC Tournament, there's a good chance we're left out. I've seen teams with RPI's between 30-39 get left out either because they blew it in their conference tournament, or because the strength of schedule wasn't as strong as other potential at-large teams. With Troy being only 8-14 against the Top 100, there's not a lot of room for mistakes, even with wins over Auburn and USA.
