I try really hard to make sure if I call out a specific player on here it's to offer praise and support. In the event I'm not praising said player, I try to make sure I focus on performance and not on the player. In other words, I attempt to make sure I never level a personal attack on a player. I hope I'm successful at this.
This said, I've been pretty vocal in expressing my frustration at the numerous false start penalties racked up by Rowzee at left tackle this season, especially in fame threads. I ask why do we continue to tolerate these? The below information, from Saturday's victory over stAte, may help answer that question:
How about this game from left tackle Steven Rowzee on Saturday
7️⃣1️⃣ Snaps 7️⃣Knockdowns 0️⃣ Sacks 9️⃣6️⃣ Grade
This is an outstanding performance, and not the first one turned in by Mr. Rowzee this season. As I've said, I've been vocal in expressing my frustration, so let me now praise Mr. Rowzee. Would I like to see fewer false starts? Sure, but this young man is doing a FANTASTIC job for us and is a major reason we are 10-2 today. Let me say, Thanks, Steven.

He had a lot of penalties for sure but he was playing out of position. He is not a tackle but he did as good as he could there. Left tackle besides center is the hardest position to play.

I had forgotten he was not originally an OT He didn't have the feet or leverage of Garcia. He anticipated the snap to compensate thus the false starts. He was a outstanding guard last year and was forced to play LT because of experience. I don't envy LT in a passing offense. You mess up the qb gets his head taken off. When I coached OL I would call it a look out block when my left tackle messed up. I said turn and yell look out!!!

That’s true, he was outstanding at OG Well he his the only person out of the whole offense that got 1st team People tend to focus on the 2% negative things they see as opposed to the 98% positive things they see.

I played, work with, and now coach them. I am hard on him but he did perform well when he needed to be. Did kill some drives buy good out weighed the bad!

He didn't have the feet of Garcia (very, very few do). His false starts IMO were him anticipating the snap to compensate for this. He did more than a great job playing out of position.
