Not going to lie, the Miss State opening makes me more nervous than any of the other available jobs out there. I mean..it is what it is but that's a good fit for state and Neal. If you can win 7-8 games a year there that's success and other larger programs will come knocking i.e. Dan Mullen. Low risk high reward. Hopefully we dodge the Bullet for another year or 2! Go Trojans!

I'm more worried about FSU than State. Bobby Bowden was up here for the Akron game, so he knows what's up. Jimbo is rumored to go to A&M and so FSU might come calling.

Relax guys! We are 6 days away from playing for the Sun Belt Championship! If Neal Brown leaves he will leave Troy in much better shape than what it was when he arrived. The candidate pool will be extremely deep on the next go a round for a head coach!

Go Trojans! Why? Miss St isn't going to hire Neal. His resume doesn't have much on it, no championships, one 10 win season, no consistency after a big win, can't seem to get a team BACK UP for the next game (after a big win) or getting ranked. Don't see Neal being snagged by any of those openings. Now, Les Miles in Starkville? Maybe

Brown wanted the Western Kentucky job. Stoops is rock solid at Kentucky. He could draw interest from a Big 12 school from his experience at Texas Tech. Just hope he stays here a couple more years, we should go bowling every year he is at Troy IMO.

Only Big 12 school that I think has a chance is Tech. Since they just beat Texas, got bowl eligible, don't think Cliff is going anywhere.

I want to keep Brown as long as possible. Wish that were a decade, but we have to be realistic. I think Troy is an attractive Mid-Major job and we will get a good replacement when the time comes for it.

Glad they beat Texas!!! And ya Kentucky could come after him too but Stoops is actually doing well for them atm

Kentucky would be a dream job for Neal Brown. Don't see that coming open in the foreseeable future though.

And ya Kentucky could come after him too but Stoops is actually doing well for them atm I remember Neal saying in an interview that he didn't enjoy being at Kentucky. Not sure he'd go back if the job opened up, even for the pay raise. He loves what he does and knows he's good at it. Being unhappy at a school that views football as something to do until basketball starts again wouldn't make sense when something better will open up. He needs to be somewhere that the fans and administration embrace the program as much as he does.

Kentucky would be a dream job for Neal Brown. Don't see that coming open in the foreseeable future though. Neal knows that there is only one coach in Lexington, and they play indoors, in the winter. Neal left Ky and went and finished at UMass, where he earned his MBA, which,, IMO, makes him what he is. He puts a business model to his program. Institutes processes, with checks and balances with accountability associated with them. His next job will be as a head coach, at a bigger program, where facilities are far and above that of Troy. Unless, of course, he gets our facilities to the next level. Then maybe, just maybe he stays longer than many expect. I hear from GOOD sources that he and his wife really, really love it here. Just built a new mega home. Girls are in school and mom is involved. All those things make it about more than money and fame (or flame out) at a bigger program, at this time.

I think we have him for another year if not, I agree the applicant pool will be extremely deep and we will find a coach to continue his success.
