I saw this posted on Reddit and gave my idea for a defense oriented trophy for the team. Just wanted to see what you guys thought about it as a fun idea.
As we are currently #1 in Red Zone Defense, I think if the defense comes up a big stop in the Red Zone, the player that helped to stop it should get to carry around a large, bronze, Greek-era shield. It shall be named the "Score Shield," as our defense has shielded us from an opponent's score.

I agree. I know other teams do it and they spend a good bit of time celebrating the "trophy" rather than getting in a defensive huddle to get ready for the next series. I think those kind of rewards are best done in Sunday's team meeting or via official announcement i.e. the Corey McCullers Spirit Award. Now, as to the idea of a shield, I love it. Give it post game to the player who made the most turnovers/stops...whatever the criteria... and let him keep it until the next game. In addition, give everyone who has even of those events (turn over etc) a shield helmet sticker for each event. I think, however, that to do something like that on the sideline lends itself to a "look at me display". Let teammates congratulate on a job well done and then officially recognize it post game.

Helmet stickers are the only thing I like about Ohio State. Shields would look great.
