Ok. My wish was granted. We put up 40 points! It's a great day to be a Trojan. Congratulations to Jordan Chunn for breaking the touchdown record! Congratulations to Marcus Jones for two stunning kick returns. I don't think anybody in the country could have caught him on the second one. What is his 40 time? He is sooooo fast. If I had a birthday wish I would like to see Jones vs Frye in a foot race. 8-2. Big win and D played stellar as usual. We scored 42 put 14 of that was KO returns. Offense scored 28. We still have not reached our potential on offense but we are improving. State showed the can be beat so we have a shot at 10-2 No doubt. Add a bowl win and we can get that "almost nobody gets" 11th win. 10 wins is already elite, but 11 wins is something some teams will never see.

I'm not sure why we are so self-loathing....I'm pretty proud of what I see RE: quarterbacks. "Quarterbacks and Troy University go hand-in-hand and Sean Reagan has had a huge part in the success of Troy’s signal callers for eight years, including the last six as the quarterback coach. Beginning with the 2015 season, Reagan also has coached Troy’s running backs. Reagan has worked with three record-setting quarterbacks during his tenure at Troy in Levi Brown, Brandon Silvers and Corey Robinson. Under his guidance, Robinson turned in one of the most impressive collegiate careers in NCAA, Sun Belt Conference and Troy history. Robinson left Troy with the school and league records in touchdown passes, attempts, completions and yards in addition to the career record for total offense. Robinson is one of five players in NCAA history to throw for over 3,000 yards and accumulate over 3,000 yards of total offense in four seasons and he finished his career ninth in FBS history in passing yards. Robinson set the NCAA record for completion percentage in a game (30 attempts) with a 30-for-32 performance against UAB in 2013 for which he was named the Capital One Player of the Week. In 2014, Brandon Silvers etched his name in the NCAA record book for the highest completion percentage by a freshman in NCAA history. Silvers completed 70.5 percent of his passes to break former Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford’s mark of 69.5 percent. Silvers was named to the All-Sun Belt First Team as a junior in 2016 as the Trojans led the league in scoring (33.7) and finished second in total offense (429.6) and passing offense (260.5). Troy finished the 2016 season 10-3 with a victory in the Dollar General Bowl, the first top-25 ranking in school and Sun Belt Conference history and the best win-improvement in the country. The Trojans have averaged 286.0 passing yards per game during his four seasons as the quarterback coach. In 2012, Troy threw for over 400 yards four times including a 528-yard outburst against UL Lafayette and a 496-yard performance at Tennessee. Reagan mentored Deon Anthony into an All-Sun Belt performer (all-purpose) in 2012 as Troy’s backup quarterback. Anthony set the then Troy single-season record (broken by Silvers in 2014) by completing 69.9 percent of his passes (79-of-113) and was named the Allstate Sugar Bowl Manning Award Player of the Week." From Official Site of Troy Athletics Obviously the guy has had his feelings hurt by certain members of this staff.

Even now as reading this some will be offended and others will be oblivious to the majority of the board wondering who are these people and how can they process information that way. For example, there is a joke of logic on another thread how we concluded that Tennessee State could be picked by the committee to be number two. Yes ludicrous but to some it seems their mind does work in this fashion. My point is actually simple facts bastardized or totally ignored help individuals make statements and arguments that most just shake our heads and Thank above that we do not have to listen to them on a daily basis. Now with that said it is just my opinion about some posts and posters on this site. Again opinions are like rectums: most everyone has one. We will see how job offers our OC and QB coach get versus our DC this offseason. Even if it mattered enough for me to follow this to that point... ...that's not anecdotal at all. Again, facts (stats, percentages, records set, etc.) don't care about your or your grandmother's feelings. Have to agree with Saint. We throw for barely 200 to 250 yards a game and yes 80% of our throws our bubble screens. Your stats are correct but it doesn't take skill to throw a bubble screen We would have serious, serious problems If our run game wasn't strong this year

I gotta go with Hemi on this. I would love to see you at practice one day filling in for Silvers on just one bubble screen. Think you could do it before Sam Lebbie wrecks you? I know I couldn't.

You don't see them evaluating qb's on throwing bubble screens. Jon Gruden on his qb show hates the bubble screen with a passion. Why? He says it doesn't require skill. Could I throw a bubble screen back in the day? Probably? I did play baseball growing up and in HS and I did know how to throw a football. Could I have hit the TE over the middle or Titus or Greg deep? No, it wasn't my position. Could Turk or Silvers block a DT-DE or LB? No. It wasn't there position. And since you didn't play I would guess you could do neither

What separates the typical from great is the down field throws. There are system qb's also " Tebow, Andre Wear etc" who are great in that system but can't play in anything else. Didn't ridicule anyone, I stated a simple fact that any qb should complete every bubble screen he throws. Making a 10-15 yard throw horizontal is not hard for any qb

I will say the commentators for the AU vs Ga game said... "This isn't some lesser league where you throw bubble screens."

Whether or not you like a bubble screen, has zero to do with the system that NB chooses to run. It is a part of said system. It serves a purpose. I guess some won't be satisfied until he takes his bubble screens elsewhere so his friend can come and run said bubble screens.

Ah yes...the bubble screen vs LSU...some seemed to have liked the final outcome... Now there you go using facts and logic...if you do not watch it you may be up for the first gorgeous virgin 🐐 award (tongue in cheek)....little do the ones who hate the bubble screen know that 4 yards on 1st down is considered a good play but then again we are not to think about that.

I don't like bubble screens.
There. I said it. They're boring to me but so is running the ball up the middle. Both about as sexy as anyone's dead grandma in a teddy. WHO CARES if it gets the job done??!!
My main point was that, in the midst of a game in which not only did we win handily AND put ourselves in the #1 slot in the Belt, AND also run back TWO kick-off returns for TD's so that Jones becomes the 21st player in NCAA FBS history to do so - in the midst of all that, our fans take sideswipes at our coaches who have great track records. Does that not seem asinine to anyone else??? Shameful. At least you ought to be ashamed.
I'm not one to blow sunshine and rainbows at times when signs point to an issue. I believe in a realistic critique of circumstances when necessary. But I'll be dog gone if some of you rally around negatives constantly, in the middle of FAR more good than bad. IT'S AN 8-2 WINNING SEASON FOR GOODNESS SAKE!! Why bash the coaching staff that's leading the team you claim to have loyalty to in the middle of a successful year??? Can you not enjoy the success we're having and just be happy about that?? I totally get Hemi's cynicism about the constant complaining from some of the posters here.
I get wanting to banter back and forth and talk football but you can do that and not tear down the team you say you love at the same time. If all you can post is griping and moaning in the middle of a pretty dadgum successful year of football, I don't see how anyone here can take you seriously. It seems to me you logging into the wrong message board. You're looking for the opposing team's board. Pull for TROY or pull out.

I've got nothing against bubble screens as long as they aren't used all the time to the point it becomes predictable.

I've got nothing against bubble screens as long as they aren't used all the time to the point it becomes predictable. This. We actually ran a bubble screen back when we ran the wishbone. It was effective as we had two 4.4 wr's that were great athletes. It was very effective when we ran it but we didn't run it 20 times a game.
