Still quite a few games to go. This is my favorite way of looking at the remainder of this season. First take care of business and play well and stay healthy and go to 8-2 and the 9-2 and then play a tough but winnable ball game at The Boro on December 2nd. Now I hope App would stumble on the way but let us say they may not. If they do Co-champs if they don't we would still be 10-2. So in all likelyhood I believe there will be a 12-1 Toledo team who will wind up 24th or 25th ranked. Will the DG bowl take anyone other than the best record team? I think NOT. So if we win out and that will be tough to do but very doable then we get matched up against a good Toledo squad with a great chance to make a play at even being Number 25 at the end of the year. If not very close and a heck of a great year. To me that is our best case scenario. I know some would chose another bowl but that would be our best position and choice given all scenarios at present.

And I assume that an AAC match up with them is what they prefer but they may for go that depending on their best interest with records and votes in poll. I am on course speaking of Toledo and the fly in the ointment for the DG is the 23rd date. However, our best scenario is still to get Toledo in that bowl as a 10-2 team and a conference champ although be it CO. we just need to win and someone beat App

App lost to ULM.

Say we go 9-3 with a loss to Arkansas St would we wind up in New Orleans? Doesn't the conference champ go to Montgomery? App St has been the last 2 years in a row.

It used to be New Orleans Bowl for the conference champ. Now it's a geographical decision mostly in order to get a better crowd. I am sure there are more factors but I know it's no longer set where the conference champ goes.

Better hope ULL doesn't get to 6 wins, currently they sit at 4-4 with 3 winnable games left And honestly I'd rather play a 11-2 or 12-1 ranked Toledo in mobile than a UAB in New Orleans

They'd play us just as hard as Toledo. Though I think the main reason people don't want DG is the date and/or the idea of going to the same place over again. Me, I care more about being able to go than who we play. Personal preference is Cure, then NO, then Camilla, then DG. As an aside, I was a USA fan yesterday and the Ferrets let me down. Hoping ULL doesn't vet to 6-6 just to get someone different into NO for the sake of variety.

PS we owe them a beatdown!

Haven't watched UAB play... but sounds like they are good. Of course benefited from some relaxed recruiting rules the last couple years. Seems the shutdown was a net positive for them. Would like to play them again, for sure!

Bill Clark has done a heck of a job with the blazers. I give the man a lot of credit.

Right now the DG is hoping for a UCF or a USF NYD6 team and then win outs by Toledo and Troy because the difference between those two and Ark St and Toledo is a good 6-10k more with a crowd of about 30 vs about 38k...and ESPN will hype this game and with the viewership of approaching even up to 4 million likely 3.2-3.7 area....Wow what an advertisement for Troy...
BUT WE MUST WIN OUT....So .....on to Coastal!!!!!

Well Ohio took care of my best case. So on to 11-2 for us no matter who or where we play.

With Toledo's loss the best that will come out of the MAC is 11-2 and one of those maybe Ohio. Kind of doubt we play them anywhere and so will Toledo still win their division and come in at 11-2. If we win out we will still be matched with the MAC champ as an option for Mobile...Jusy lost a tad of its luster and potential to elevate as well it may have to even reach ranked status. At present Mobile is still going to give us the greatest showcase. That prime time Saturday nite will have a viewership up to 5 times more than the other SBC bowls

D3 Emory& Henry regularly out draws Georgia State. Why do they even have football? Great facility there what a waste of money though.
