Come someone explain why we’re losing to Georgia Southwestern State by 10 at the half? Anyone at the game? I’d really like a little insight besides the stats page.

The starting lineup is a little strange, but I would've thought Troy would handle Georgia Southwestern even with some 2nd string guys in.

I really, really hope this is a similar situation to when #4 Syracuse lost to Div II Le Moyne in 2009 in an exhibition game. Syracuse went 35-4 the rest of the year.
Otherwise, this team is in BIG trouble... and that's stating it lightly...

We have lost or almost lost to bad teams in Exibition games before and gone on to do well in regular season.
I don't think a lot of effort is put into them. But maybe I'm wrong

The lack of effort or talent is a bad sign either way. We have the talent so I'm guessing it's effort and the team decided to not show up.

Exhibition means absolutely nothing. Several key players saw limited or no action due to injuries. Can't compare this to a real game

Nope. Must fire everyone. Including the clock operator. Where have you heard that from? Standard response from some. Regardless of the sport.

Exhibition means absolutely nothing. Several key players saw limited or no action due to injuries. Can't compare this to a real game Means something or they wouldn't play it. They kept score. Coach didn't say it meant nothing. Should have been played as a "real" game. I always thought exhibition games were used to help coaches and managers select and condition players for the competitive matches of a league season. Georgia Southwestern State called it an upset over a Div I school www.gswcanes.com/sports/mbkb/2017-18/releases/20171102eq286rWe can and should do better. GSW played their reserves too. We were expected to dominate this exhibition game and should have.

I don't want to fire anyone. And I also know basketball is a game that is more likely to have an upset than football. However, no matter the reason, we should never lose an exhibition game, ever.
Just my 2 dull wore out pennies!

If this were Georgia Southern on Dec. 29th, you would have seen players playing through pain, last night there was no point in it

Just my 2 dull wore out pennies! I was not in attendance so can't give first hand observation. But, exhibition games are frequently used to give game experience to non-starters, new faces and try out new schemes etc, etc. I would consider winning an exhibition game secondary to these other objectives. Where is Ga Southwestern located anyway??
