With 1:43 to go in the half of the SoBama vs GaSt game, GaSt takes a 10-3 lead. Watching this game, I am both perplexed and disgusted at the reality that we laid such an egg against SoBama. There is no way that should have happened. Woulda, coulda, shoulda.

Because I hate south especially after that game a couple of weeks ago. I don't want them to get bowl eligible.

It just shows how easily we should’ve handled them.

We totally should have beat So Bama, but I'm glad Ga State did. Good for them getting their first win in their new stadium!

All this game showed me is the curious creature that 18-22 year olds are.

So you are saying that acknowledgment of this age groups natural developmental processes and how it might effect the outcome of any endeavor they pursue is just an attitude that If ignored will make it non-existent?

Bama's 18-22 year olds are not curious, they are killers. Ours against South were doughy slow prey.

One of the things a coaching staff is charged to do is prepare their team for an upcoming game. This preparation includes developing and practicing a game plan, insuring that their team can execute that plan properly , and insuring that their team is ready mentally for the contest. CNB has owned the fact that he and his staff failed to make sure the TROJANS were mentally prepared for the SoBama game. That said, the young men being prepared have a responsibility for their focus and attitude. They have to accept their part in the preparation for an event. As one who has 2 sons and 6 grandkids, I can tell you that NO amount of preparation and teaching will guarantee that an immature child, adolescent, or young man will always do what they should. The more mature the child, the more likely the one training is to get results. While a predictable, linear relationship between age and maturity can't be assumed, in general, with age comes maturity.
The TROJANS weren't ready to play SoBama and the staff has taken responsibility for that. To assert, however, that the inconsistent actions and the immaturity of 100 or so 18-22 year olds has nothing to do with the varying performance level seen from game to game is misguided at best, myopic at worst. The same should be said for for a failure to recognize the role of the coaching staff in a loss like we suffered against SoBama. This problem is a two headed monster that must be slayed if we are to ever consistently perform to our potential. There is plenty of blame to go around for a debacle like we saw two weeks ago.

It’s obvious that some in this thread are consumed with the loss to SoBama. Why? I haven’t a clue.
My original post was meant to point out how strange college football is from week to week. SoBama coming off of two nice wins and riding a high, tanks, while Georgia St getting pounded on Homecoming looks energized and excited.
I’d still rather be Trojan than either of those two kitty schools.

If you follow a team closely, you get to observe that progression in maturity and the increasing consistency that comes with it.

Bama's 18-22 year olds are not curious, they are killers. Ours against South were doughy slow prey. And curious why they were like that right after looking deadly and focused at LSU. It is something every college coaching staff deals with some better than others. I too see CNB as pretty good at that task. Ask Butch Jones how he is doing? College coaching has a LOT of moving parts and counting on absolute consistency in this age group is dang near impossible. Oh you can ask Jimbo Fischer this year as well......... ON WITH THE REST OF THE 11-2 SEASON!
