Do you think some P5 teams will still be throwing out bait to try and nab Neal Brown? Does the LSU win still make him a P5 candidate?
Or does this loss, plus last year's loss to Arkansas State after cracking the Top 25, become a stock-crasher for Neal Brown?
You have to think that some of these P5 programs are going to want a coach that can prove he can sustain success and not slip up.

If he can't get his team ready to play a sub par conference team then no P5 team is going to come after him.

He's still probably sought after, a 9 or 10 win season will still have them talking.. if he loses another game or two he shouldn't I think we will keep him another year.

Brown ain't going anywhere. Troy's record under Brown against teams with winning records is terrible. Count em up and it will reveal the light.

Thing is, we are pretty senior heavy....the cupboard might be a little bare next season at several key spots.

Brown ain't going anywhere. Troy's record under Brown against teams with winning records is terrible. Count em up and it will reveal the light. Including this season, he is 6-8 versus teams with winning records. But 4 of those losses are to P5 teams that were very good, including Clemson, NC State, Wisconsin, and Mississippi State. Brown is still a good coach. Unless this team tanks and doesn't get more than 6 wins this season, I'm still on the NB bus.

Zero doubt CNB and his agent has several conversations after the LSU win about interest from other schools his agent was receiving last week. Zero doubt this and all the national publicity being shoved his way kept his focus away from the team and game planning (he wouldn’t be human if it didn’t affect him) and boom the result we get last night, an embarrassing turd that haunts us for a few years.
But I could see a mid or lower level ACC team and for sure an American Conference team still going after him at seasons end. But we would have to end up 10-2 for this to happen.

The thing is, the only AAC teams that "fit" Neal Brown that may have job openings at the end of the season are ECU and Tulsa. Everyone else either has a first-year coach or is doing well. In the ACC, the only teams I see going after Neal Brown would be Pittsburgh or North Carolina. And I have a feeling North Carolina would go after a bigger name instead of a coach straight from the Sun Belt.

Or do they shovel some money toward a big name, proven coach? So far Texas Tech is 4-1. If they keep it up, they won't be calling NB.

Scott Frost at UCF will be the hottest coaching hire this year. I have a Nebraska Alum in my Rotary Club and he says the rumor mill is they want Frost bad. That would leave a vacancy at UCF which isn't a bad coaching gig.
