He only has one carry on the season, and that was during the Boise State game.
He didn't have any stats recorded against ASU or NMSU.
Any idea what's going on? Still recovering from the ACL tear possibly?

Marcus Jones is doing well enough that there is no rush for JDF in the return game...enough receivers on offense to allow him to get to 100% before his return. I do not miss the days of depending on one player like JJ to be 75-80% to have a chance to win...we have depth at receiver.

He had a medical RS last season for this knee injury... The injury happened too late in the season, he is a true sophomore this season.

CNB addressed JD-F in today's press conference. He said he was vital in preparing for the NM State game, he played the part of Lamb for the scout team. CNB also said he isn't 100% and that he tried to give it go in either the first or second game (I can't remember which he said) but wasn't up to speed. If my memory is correct, I saw him on the field for one play in the Boise game. I hope this won't impact his ability to redshirt in the event he's not soon ready for action.

Pretty sure a player has to have a significantly more amount of pt to not be awarded a redshirt.

I know the rules are a little more lax when it comes to a medical redshirt, but I don't know if he would qualify for a medical redshirt for an injury that occurred last year. Anybody out there with more knowledge of the intricacies of redshirting, help me out.

I was told that any injury that results in a player not being able to participate in 30% of the games of a season can qualify as a medical red shirt.

In case you didn't listen to CNB press conference previewing Akron, JDF is still not game ready due to his injury

Bottom of this article on Silvers says Frye is red shirting. www.montgomeryadvertiser.com/story/sports/college/troy-university/2017/09/18/silvers-streaker-qbs-long-td-run-gives-trojans-glee/679226001/Frye sidelined: Running back Jabir Daughtry-Frye, still slowed by a knee injury from last season, likely wonāt play this season and will redshirt, Brown said. Frye tore a ligament in mid-November last year and such injuries generally require a full yearās recovery, Brown said. Frye has been on the scout team, and Brown recognized his efforts there in helping the Trojans prepare for New Mexico State. āHeās a guy that weāve got really, really high hopes for,ā Brown said. āHe does a little bit of light work, but heās not doing really any full-speed work right now.ā

Pretty sure a player has to have a significantly more amount of pt to not be awarded a redshirt. The minute you play one snap you can't get a standard redshirt. A medical redshirt is a different thing, though. I think it's something like 30% of the snaps during the season.
